A budget which was double what we won the league on and we are 2nd bottom..
A lack of fight, ability and many players who are stealing a wage. 2 relegations in 2 seasons look odds on. Disgraceful all round. I've been a season ticket holder for 25 years and seen some poor Welling teams. This is up there with the best of them.

19 games gone and we sit on 12 points. Given that 42 points keeps a team up, can anyone see us winning 10 games out of the last 21?
The manager has to take some stick for the players he has signed but the players themselves need to take a long hard look at themselves. Today was shocking.
One of the players told me that the week before last only 10 outfield players turned up for training. If that is true, when we are in the position that we are in then that is disgraceful and the management need to take a long hard look as to what they are allowing. Too many slaps on the back to people not good enough.
As i've said above, i've been a season ticket holder for 25 years and this is embarassing. Someone needs to change things and quick, otherwise we will have the best ground in the kent league.

Like you polo I've had a season ticket for decades, but even in the bad old days, and we've seen a few, there was always some spirit and attitude that just doesn't seem to now exist. What would the likes of Mike Rutherford make of the current squad I wonder.
week after week we make the same comments on here, but nothing seems to change, except the revolving dressing room door.
in answer to your question above, no we'll not suddenly go on a run and win 10 games, so it's the Ryman league for Welling I'm afraid.
I was at game.
1st half nothing special.
2nd half mistakes made opponents score.
We just can't recover.
MG is manager picks team formation neither are working.
Sorry but the two things need to happen Mr Goldberg must step down.
Mr day must be appointed manager with no interference from mr Goldberg.
If MG steps down as manager, he'll probably walk away from the club altogether.
If he stays as first team manager we're definitely going down. I can't see Bexley council approving the plans for the club if we end up in the Ryman league. TBH Bexley Council would probably rather the club went bust just so they could do whatever they like with the ground.

Hahahahahahaha the first post you make in ages which is an incredible amount of bull****!
You are speculating whilst knowing very little!

On that note then, nobody on here seems to know anything.

WTID please give it a rest.
I said before and say it again.
I don't agree with anything you say.
I don't want MG as manager.
Look at the f..King results.
Jody brown 9 games gone.
Faz & co to many games relegated.
MG should not get free ride just because he will be new owner.
IMO on this forum MG got away lightly.
Poor all round today
Double relegation looms large
Goldberg seriously Bruv, FML
Just don't want to get relegated if we do this is my last season
**** the Ryman
If MG wants a meet the manager meeting let's have it
Awful today. When you look at the players most of them should be good enough for this level - and I think technically they are BUT there is no cohesion or structure to the team. When we get the ball in the middle of the park we freeze or panic - it wasn't that long ago a player would know Oboe, Barney, Jefford would be an option. Options have gone because we don't know how to play with one another due to the revolving door. Certain players, I think, performed for a few games then thought 'that's all I need to do' whereas I can only think of one player who has improved and given their all.
I'm not naming names today as I don't think it helps in any way and it was hard to stomach some of the abuse thrown towards certain players but I do understand why. I was at Kingstonian when Brigden got the bullet, Nuneaton away when Jody Brown went so I do feel the fans dissent is heard and acted upon. I'm not sure what happens now though? Will MG move 'upstairs' and JD takeover? Even if that happens we need to go on a play off position type of run and I just can't see it regardless of who is in charge.
Feel sorry for the young Millwall lads walking into this mess at the moment.
As I've said already, I don't want MG as first team manager as we'll definitely get relegated. Common sense would dictate that Jamie Day be first team manager.
Although MG has for weeks said in post-match interviews said he's been looking at bringing someone in as first team manager, he'a yet to do so. Even with bringing JD in a first team coach.
Someone previously posted an MG quote (from his Bromley days) on here with words to the effect of "I love managing and have no intention of just being a chairman." That seems to be the case here to.
Although MGs supposedly doing an excellent job on the commercial side off the pitch, one of his first promises was that we had sustainable finances. Yet I keep hearing the wage bill is apparently £8k a week, along with all the other overhead costs, when we're only getting attendances of 400-500 at present. Is he really doing that well off the pitch?!...

He's got away lightly because people have the feeling that if he steps down as manager, he could very well walk away from the club altogether. Which would well and truly leave us up sh** creek without a paddle.

And again you are making yourself look very silly. Not sure of anything? Go and ask after a game. The club bar took 15k last month. Sustainable? Enough said. I'm tired of some of the drivel i see on here. I'm done with it all.

Thank you for bringing that figure to light. Might have been worth mentioning that in the week when othera raised concerns about the clubs wage bill and finances.
WTID shut up younfhat ****. No personal disrespect intended
And down the waterfall
Where ever Ryman league takes me
I know that it won't break me
When it comes to call
It won't forsake me
I'm loving hobbins instead
Fine. You and the other trainspotting Victor Meldrews will eventually have the club to yourselves as attendances keep falling.
I said things would get worse if we sacked Jody Brown. They did.
I said things would get ALOT worse if we sacked the Three Amigos. They did.
Good luck, when the club ends up in the Ryman without a pot to piss in and probably go bust. At that point there'll hardly be anyone left on this forum to moan at.
Having supported the Club for many years, I have always been 'ever the optimist' seeing us survive on low crowds/budgets and dedicated and fervent support. Today, with a large sigh, that optimism has been knocked out of me. To be honest I do not care what is going on around the ground, it is Welling United FC's performance on the pitch which is worrying me. Today against a side which was eminently beatable ( but still 3rd in the table) we witnessed a performance that can only be described as gutless, lacking in pride and the team spirit which has always been part of our ethos appears to have completely gone. Where do we go from here, Mr Goldberg moving upstairs, leaving Daisey to become manager? However, what can he do, the budget seems to have been shot and the team, with one or two exceptions, seems to be devoid of any fighters. I am not one of the vociferous element of our supporters but even I find it difficult to find any positives. Someone should inform the new regime (and Daisey will know this in spades) that over the years we have always largely been the underdogs but have survived as a Community Club, who, whilst not always having the most gifted of players, have prospered (with blips now and then) through team spirt and togetherness. I am afraid this now seems to be sadly lacking.
In some ways it is true that the only loyalty which exists in a football club is amongst its fans, I should be most grateful if the team would go out and prove me wrong.

In three words I can sum up everything i've learnt in life; it goes on.
We are 2....3 games to even get out of the bottom 3.
So many bang-average teams have got away with murder against us.
This is not MG who did this (no matter how many of you say he did,), this is the players who seem unwilling or not capable of grafting results. ....they were signed in good faith.
Also, Hardly an excuse, but how bad was the ref today? When he gave the pen for a swan lake dive, that sealed it for me.
Like the FA Cup the Darts then Concord matches might give us the space to breath......

MG signed every single one of these players on what I believe is an 8k a week budget. Jamie Day won this league on 3.8k a week, less than half what we are paying now while we lie 2nd bottom. The players have to take some blame but so does the man who signed them in the first place. The money we have spent on average Ryman league players is appauling.
Won 3, drawn 3, lost 13. Any other team coming down from the league above would have sacked their manager by now.

Do i need to raise every point when I have a chat with the club? Anyone with a brain cell and having a chat with the club could understand that PJD, Crawford and Walker back would mean players we were paying to cover the gaps were surplus to requirements.

MG signed every single one of these players on what I believe is an 8k a week budget.
Then they sold him a lie and he should be backed up by the fans for having been had over!
There is no point turning on someone who is going to be around for a while, and pick the right fight: The players are not doing it. God knows.... MG brought in the best manager the club has had in years, and the players are not doing it.
If MG wants to leave completely so be it.
But IMO he won't.
If WUFC were pushing for title or play off spot he would take the glory & paudits.
Sadly WUFC are in relegation places so take the criticism roll your sleeves up MG make the right decisions regarding yourself as manger & JD as coach.
On a brighter note, I thought Mr Oakley and the Milllwall lads played well. Oakley was giving the Hampton defenders a torrid time during the first half - really puzzled as to why he was taken off in the second half. Otherwise, an awful day in many respects and not the performance you would expect from a Wings team - although I have lost count of the number of times that has happened.
MG has worked wonders of the pitch and brought in considerable income. However, the chats I had with him 4 weeks ago said he did not want to be manager, and he said the same thing on video. So why hasn't he stepped aside?
They sold him a lie? Dulwich fans were shocked that we were signing Brown and Nelson as they were not good enough. Daisy used to watch 2-3 games a week. Is MG doing the same? Slabber? Everyone saying he was past it and not scoring goals and on his way down the leagues. Yet we sign him on hod knows how much.
Some great achievements off the pitch for which i salute, but on the pitch, MG must step aside.
