Great result, and credit to Hythe they keep trying but were outclassed by Welling today, not often we can say we outclassed the opposition! Bring on Concord ...............
Good performance from our boys with Hythe coming to us with nothing to lose. Once the penalty went in we took control and were pretty clinical in front of goal. Nice to be able to rest a couple of players in the second half and we looked a bit fitter and stronger although that might have been down to the level of the opposition as much as anything else. To keep going to the end and effectively win 3-0 when it was 10 v 10 was pleasing as well. Nice to see the new lad get a run out and get on the scoresheet as well.
The only downside seems to be the injury situation. No PJD or Walker even on the bench. Injuries to Hayles and Crawford again during the game. It is difficult to gauge the level of players in games like that but I am not convinced about the young Millwall centre half especially if he were up against Conference South level forwards.
Now we need to keep this level of performance/results going in the huge league games coming up.
