I have been reading some of the ludicrous posts on this forum,I think it's about time totake a deep breath after the mayhem caused by the management departures over the last week.
Gillingham are the maincause of the problems at PVR, they sacked their manager, they do not have a great budget and have taken the cheap option to buy in a management team, which the incumbents would never have expected with their recent track record. The combined management sackings over the last year at Ebbsfleet,Forest Green and Braintree, is not a good record to be given an opportunity in EFL Div 1.However JD, has a good reputation at Welling delivering teams on a meagre budget and resources, but he seems in his element in this situation at the Wings, as well as his own family enjoying life at PVR.Even if they fail at Gillingham, this management team will always find a home somewhere!
The introduction of Mark Goldberg taking on the helm at PVR should have had an impact, especially from his proven Management capabilities and development ideas. Unfortunately this did not work out, and MG realised taking on everything at this club was a huge effort and was having a major impact on the playing side. He was wise enough torealise he cannot do everything, and handed over the playing side toJD. Unfortunately, like all of us he did not contemplatesuch a disastrous situation after only a few short weeks.
The performance at Hemel Hempsteadon Saturday was truly shocking! There were probably well over 100 Wings fans who made the journey on Saturday, and they were left totally dumbfounded and disappointed at the team's performance. There was only a 10 minute period at the end of the first half when thy Wings looked like the team we witnessed against Margate. The second half was totally non-existent and was on a par with the all time low performance at Hampton and Richmond last month.
At this time of year all the potential managementcandidates are involved in their own success at whatever club they are at. This leaves the dregs who are hunting jobs, or usually without experience at this level. Just look at the disaster at PVR over the last couple of seasons. The next appointment must be ambitious and a positive step for the future of the team and personal ambitions. This is not the Forum's responsibility and I know we all have our views, lets hope the next vacancy is filled to our expectations. .
good old fashioned team talk does the trick how about a steve finnan and gary abbott partnership got to be an x player otherwise it be the same old crap from previous managers the manager has got be a true welling fan
