4 defenders in the squad for a while now. Tonight that cost us. Unforgivable. Very poor. Cost us tonight.

More forwards on the bench than defenders in the starting XI.

Can't comment on the game itself but starting with a back four including our best midfield player over the last few weeks and a third choice left winger is not a good starting point....

No cover at centre half and no cover at full back either. From a squad of 87 earlier in the season we seem to be down to about 16 and half of them are either wingers or forwards?!

This has been an accident waiting to happen. This is supposed to be a semi-professional football club and not an amateur one...

I was not at the match but I have watched the post match interview which explains some of the team selections.

But St A are near to the playoffs, we are near to the relegation zone & we were playing away, so the result is not too surprising. When the team all "click" they can probably beat anyone in the league, but with a small squad of part-timers they cannot turn it on every time. Let's hope they are all switched on for the cup game on Saturday.

Whilst I agree that we should not panic over last nights result, it is a legitimate concern that we have only four defenders in the current match day squad. God forbid it if we had lost another one last night, then panic might set in!

I think you will find I was moaning about this issue while we were winning..

If you are happy with the current balance of the squad then fair enough.

The Wings probably deserved a draw on the reflection of play. The ball  was not quite rolling the "Welling Way," The Left defensive flank was  a major problem for  all 3 goals.  The attack was not helped by Crawford being continually offside. The first two goals were shoddy work by the defence who failed to clear the ball. The last 15 minutes of the first half were all Welling, but the ball was not bouncing their way in the goal mouth.  Nannetti scored from an acute angle to  give hope  at 2-1. However the disaster of an own goal seemed to  put the game beyond rescue.   Welling were playing quite well, had Coombes's goal come 5 minutes earlier there may have been an exciting finish. Special praise for  Lewington making some outstanding saves.

If you compare the last away league game  down the Road at Hemel Hempstead  this was a much improved performance.  Agree with other postings  we need to  bolster defence, and release our best mid fielder to his best position.

Even me, with my rose tinted glasses, has expressed my concern to the management about the lack of cover in all the defensive areas. We have several two match weeks ahead and will pick up injuries.
