With £4 concessions. Good to see we now price these games correctly. For years the club used to charge full price even though we often put out a youth team.
Tonight will be a good opportunity for the likes of Archie Johnson, Trey Williams and Jamie Slabber to get some minutes and hopefully challenge for a starting place in the league.

Yeah because the away team are usually lower league and see it as an earner and refuse to have cheap prices. The prices have to be agreed. So a Ryman North team thinks Welling get 500 £12 a go, lovely £3k for us. Or if 150 turn up we will still get nearly a grand, which to a pub team is massive.

Agree on the prices.
However none of those players is anywhere near challenging for a first team place. Moreover a couple of them should be out on loan getting regular football and any monies freed up used to bolster the other end of the pitch.
Almost out of the competition before the game even started! Trey Williams named in line up but club only just this minute realised he is cup tied! You would think the player would have said something before now! He has been replaced by Luke Saggers.
Judging from the post match interview there could now be some players moving on. The match was obviously used to assess some of the fringe players and they just did not impress. A lesson learned, fortunately in a cup game, now let's clear the decks and do the business in the league.
What is Slabber doing....I thought he went weeks ago
Phoned in sick apparently last night.....mmm........
I have listened to the interview. Wheeler criticised the fringe players and how they can't come to him and justify a place in the starting XI when they play like that when given a chance. However no mention of the half dozen regulars who also started the game...
How about the fact that we are currently under the stewardship of a bloke who nearly took St Albans out of this league last season (and not in the right direction) and another bloke whose prowess is supposed to be with the academy and was given the boot by Hayes & Yeading in his last managerial job?!
There is absolutely no consistency with us at the moment. Played well at Bromley but that was probably down to MG and the ex Bromley players wanted to put one over their old team and played well for one half against Oxford. Other than that we were abysmal at Hemel, very poor in the first half at Oxford, surrendered against Lincoln and couldn't give a pub team a decent game last night...
Are we stuck with this interim management team and this squad until the end of the season and are they just keeping the seat warm for the owner to pick up the managerial reins again for next season...??
The vast majority of the players & management were brought in by MG when he was clearly the manager, but the team never performed, then we briefly had Jamie Day's input and the performance changed. After he left there was some hope that his style and methods could be maintained by the interim team, but that is now questionable.
Is MG effectively the manager with two "yes" men as coaches? I sincerely hope not.
I'd suggest there should be a clear statement from MG as to how the playing staff are currently being managed.
I'm starting to question if the Jamie Day factor has faded from the players minds too. It was obvious that when JD and Ady Pennock were running the show they demanded 100% effort from the players at the very least. There is no substitute for work rate. That has to come first or all the skill and tactics in the world will amount to nothing. We need to be relentless. Force teams into mistakes. Not give an inch to anyone. Earn the right to play. At the moment I don't see that happening from some players. There are one or two exceptions but not many. I'm dreading coming up against Dartford who are flying. They run and work hard all day. They are fit and strong. Sadly we aren't. God help us on the 28th. I fear a thrashing in on the cards. God I hope I'm wrong!
