Hello,

There will be an open meeting for ALL Welling United supporters at Park View Road on Thursday 9th March.

Mark Goldberg will be attending and answering any questions that you may have regarding any aspect of the club.

To keep things organised, all questions must be submitted to myself, either in this thread or via email to deanshulver@gmail.com. This worked well in the meeting we had with Barry last year. If there is any free time at the end then you may be able to ask any additional questions.

The evening starts at 7.30pm

Thanks

Dean

Polo can I suggest 30 mins at end of meeting be allowed for ?s from floor.
One meeting we had with mr hobbins junior went well ?s in advance and also from floor.

Can you please ask.

Will you consider a ticket price reduction for 16-25 year olds to try bring some younger fans into the ground?

And also

Should we be doing more to try and take advantage of disillusioned charlton fans and get them to pvr.

I think that depends on how many questions get submitted in advance and what time it is when that finishes. But hopefully we will have some time at the end.

Yes, exactly the same as the meeting last year. The questions submitted to myself and to Ken as per the WUSA email that went out today will not be shown to MG or any directors. They are being collated to ensure we have the list ready so everything runs smoothly.

Just so questions can be collated in time...

Friday 3rd March is the last day questions can be submitted. With me being away at the weekend and at work next week they need to be in by Friday.

Email as always is deanshulver@gmail.com

Polo.

All the questions I have received have been collated for Thursday. There were quite a few duplicates!

If there are anymore then please submit them today, otherwise they are unlikely to be included.

Can I add a last minute question

When are we going to get a REAL manager?

What is the plan?

I thought it was a very good meeting.

I thought MG was very open and honest as he always has been when I've spoken to him. He outlined the plans for the ground and was admitting last night that he got a lot wrong this season on and off the pitch and that he was looking to put that right for next season.

Everyone I spoke to afterwards thought it was a very positive meeting. Until MG asked if we could possibly get a drum..... that didn't go down very well!

Nooooooo.....no drums!

Good...pleased to hear that and I look forward to minutes

I guess the KEY thing is to stay in this league first

A very open, honest and informative evening last night. A good turn out of supporters as well.

I have always found MG approachable and he was very forthright last night. He admitted to plenty of mistakes (I suppose he had no choice there!) and hopefully he has learnt from a lot of them. Not sure where he sees 7 or 8 of this squad as being good around next season but we will have to wait and see on that....Of course there is still plenty of work to do on and off the pitch, and a lot of it is still at the planning stage, but I was encouraged by what I saw and heard.

Also hats off to Matt and Dean for hosting the event extremely well.

Very good meeting and Mark Goldberg was very open and came across quite sincere. It takes a lot of mettle to go in front a large audience of people and answer questions on the spot. It is easier when things are going well. Not so easy when things are not so well. As others have mentioned he solely took the blame for a lot of the mistakes that were made this year and there were many. The key thing is I am sure he will learn from them. I am a lot more optimistic and clear where he wants to take the club. Overall a good night and good to see a lot of people there and thanks to Dean and Matt for organising this

Advice needed ladies and gents. I have the minutes from the meeting and I'm hoping to save them somewhere so that anyone can download them, any ideas? Otherwise I will have to email them out to anyone who requests them. Preferably I would upload them somewhere so if anyone has any ideas then let me know!

I would say upload to Dropbox and share the URL on here. Only people with a direct link will be able to view.

Depends whether you want to keep private among just our own supporters

You could put a copy on the WUSA page for starters but not everyone is a member

Dropbox is ok but that would mean it is open to anybody

It was an open meeting so I cannot see the logic of restricting the publication of the minutes, assuming they have been cleared by the club?

If there had been a restriction on attendance, to say season ticket holders only, I'd have a different view.

so put a link on here would be my advice

The open meeting was sought and organised by WUSA officers. Supporters who are not WUSA members had the opportunity to attend the meeting and take their own notes. A WUSA officer went to the time and trouble to record and publish minutes so that WUSA members who could not attend the meeting could see what transpired.

Consequently, I believe that the minutes should be available on the WUSA site only. If non WUSA members want to see the minutes they should pay the £10 subscription and apply to join, or, if they have an aversion to joining an organisation which promotes the common weal, they should send the £10 to WUSA with a request that the money be donated to Boost the Budget.

Otherwise it should be up to Mark Goldberg and the Board as to whether there should be a more widespread distribution which could risk some confidential information and remarks falling into tne hands of mischief makers or intelligence gatherers from other clubs.

what is the point of calling it an OPEN meeting then?

it will be a farce if it is restricted to WUSA members only

If you would like a copy of the minutes then please send an email to deanshulver@gmail.com.

I will then send you a copy as and when I can.

Err, it was an open meeting and, presumably, supporters who are not WUSA members attended.  The meeting was organised by WUSA and the minutes have been prepared by a WUSA official. It was not an OPEN MINUTES meeting - unless MG and the Board stipulate to the contrary. There is an awful lot of difference between attending an open meeting and reading what transpired without the proceedings becoming common knowledge to supporters of competing clubs.

Well you wasn't there so why don't you pay £10 for them and it wasn't a WUSA meeting it was a open supporters meeting. Therefore they should be available to all. You'll be pleased to know he did answer your question, whether you like the answer or not is a different matter.
