Are the management team and MG on holiday? Looks like Leatherhead and Margate are splashing the cash - but nothing compared with that being spent by Billericay - and that is the Ryman premier ffs!
I've read several interviews where managers in this league have said that May/June are the difficult months as wage expectations from players are too high. Once you get into July players demands come down, and you also get players looking for clubs higher up the pyramid who become available or no longer on trial.
I would rather they use the money wisely to pick up a few gems late on than waste money on signing the first people they can.

We have signed eight (plus one) already. Just hope we can pick up one or two whose names have been bandied about locally before they are snapped up. Jamie did say he would like to get the core of the team sorted asap. Then I guess we can wait for the market to improve.
You may recall that when Welling signed Cumbers and Pugh, the announcements weren't made until the end of June because of legalities surrounding their contracts at Gillingham. There may be something similar now, depending on where players lined up are coming from.
Also, footballers can only really holiday in May and June so some, with whom Jamie wishes to speak, may be away.
I'm glad that MG seems to be letting Jamie get on with building his own squad. But I hope he insists on one signing- his son Bradley, a prolific scorer at our level, who has left Bromley.
