Bruno, a slight slip of the 'pen' / 'finger', you surely meant the NORTH Division.

I sure did.  Thanks for picking it up Barry.

I'll have to sign up for the Grauniad.

There is a certain daily newspaper, much read by Social Workers, which was renowned for its typos and people used to amuse themselves by seeing how many they could find in each edition.  Sad I know but true.  Yep the on and only Guardian.

I could be really cruel and say that SW's only skim read anything - there for allowing so many 'mistakes' to slip through - but i wouldn't mean it.

Apart from that. How is it going for Welling re re-structuring of your Youth? Any news on a Reserve team and Youth teams for the future?

It would indeed be cruel and I'm sure you wouldn't mean it.  I worked alongside SW's for more years than I would like to admit to and have to say that my experience was that good innovative and conscientious work was stifled in the 70's by Government interference in the name of progress.  Certainly the area I worked in we lost many experienced, hard working, committed and very caring staff.  The ever increasing bean counting and monitoring combined with cuts since the 70's has, I believe, contributed to many tragedies, some of which have indeed been put down to inadequate assessment.  Sorry folks one of my hobby horses.

As to the youth and reserve side question no decisions have been made as far as I'm aware but I'm dropping in at PVR to see Graham later in the week and among other things I was going to see if there were any firm plans for next year.

Certainly I would hope that the Under 16's progress to the Under 18's as part of the Welling set up and the sooner we make a decision the better as the season is rapidly approaching its conclusion and the lads need to know where they stand.  My fear is that too late a decision will lead to players seeking the security of sides run by other non league clubs where decisions have been made.

Well said Bruno on all counts. As for your hobby horse - i work among a trade that deals on an every day basis with SW's. They are all committed individuals and not in the looney sense! Their only constraints are budgeting and the only hold back for them is there are only 24 hours in a day!

The only way forward for any sensible club is to have a Youth and Reserve set up of their own. Think of the money it will save in the long term! Your location has a huge catchment area. And you are right - you will lose your best to others if there is no channel for them to progress.

Keep at it - you know it is right.

I was going to censor the political rant this am as I should know better but did tip JGFC the wink after posting it in case he wanted to censor.

The problem, if I'm not mistaken, is that once you step off the roundabout you have to wait until the fairground returns the following spring to see if you have the necessary pennies to get back on.  Without doubt the price of the ride goes up with each season and hard decisions have to be made.  We have been there and got the tee shirt but couldn't afford the ride one year when the fairground returned.

I believe in the case of a reserve ride we are waiting for the fairground to return to see how many pennies we need and how many we have and in the case of the existing youth side eligible for next season I see absolutely no reason to withdraw the concession.  I, and Clarkey65, do however believe they deserve input from the Club along the lines of those I suggested in a previous posting (Does bruno need to get out more thread my posting 03:55 on 14 March and Clarkey65's 11:17 14 March for those interested)

Bruno

I have not got a problem with anything you have posted or want to post. Whether in praise or criticism. I think you know i would never just delete or remove anything and i never have. If its constructive or from a Welling Fan it stays , full stop. (if its relevant etc). The "you are a ****" type posts from obviously made up usernames, just to cause aggro etc are a different matter.

Bitch    ..... You work???? haha.
