Great to see Archie has kept his place. Fully deserved and proves if you play well when given the chance, you will keep your place. COYW!

Not much !?!?!  !!

we never seemed to get going and the first half hour was more like a summer pre-season friendl, no fire or aggression from our guys

they deserved their goal and although we can complain about some of the refs decisions overall we didn't warrant much more than a quick exit from the cup.

is this this first season we've failed to win a single cup game?

I don't want to talk about today's game, hear excuses about today's game, even think about today's game.

I just want to forget about it.

The better team on the day won. We hardly put any pressure on them and they had long periods of possession.

Must admit that I was quite impressed with WSM. They were composed at the back, kept great width and in their number 10 Dayle Grubb they have a quality player who is easily the best I have seen at this level this Season.

Us, we were just awful.

First of all credit to Weston who looked like a decent footballing side and fully deserved the win. Outnumbered us in midfield and had control of the ball for most of the game. Having said that we played into their hands a bit and gave them far too much time and space throughout the whole game.

I don't mind a bit of experimenting in a game like this but none of the experiments really came off. As well as Archie has played of late, and deserved to keep his place, why not push him further forward and give Jefford at least one half of football - he will now have gone a full month without any match practice at all?? As well as Phipps has done as an impact sub the poor lad had a nightmare on Saturday and will never be a (left) winger. On the other side Monakana had an off day and the majority of his crossing was poor - he looked like he was struggling in the second half but as he wasn't subbed I can only assume there is/was nothing wrong with him. Bradbrook worked hard up front throughout but we never got players near enough to him all game until throwing bodies forward at the end - of course we missed Healy (as would any club at this level) but I am not sure if Goldberg was supposed to be playing that role or something else as he looked lost for large parts of the game. We needed to drop another body back into the middle to help Durojaiye and Jebb who were fighting a losing battle all afternoon. Not sure where the keeper was for the goal but his handling was sound and hopefully he will improve after more training with the other players.

Despite what the management team said on Wednesday night about taking the competition seriously they didn't seem to transmit to the players. At times the game was played like a pre-season or testimonial game with very little intensity from our lads throughout?! At full time the body language of both teams seemed to suggest they hadn't really cared if they had won or lost?!

The last time we turned in a below par performance in the Cup we bounced back really well and put in some good performances and got some good results - let's hope we can repeat that starting with East Thurrock at home on Saturday. Wembley will have to wait for another season...!

Up the Wings!

Well have to say im a bit surprised by jamies comments post match - Yes the players had a off day but talk of shipping some out etc i think is a bit extreme and here is why.

WSM were simply set up better and like the previous week we got it wrong from the off, and i thought we scouted teams!!!

Could of been a simple fix i think, jamie said we wanted to be more solid at the back but actually the team sheet done nothing to suggest this as there was no change.

Phipps is not a winger and had a terrible first half, if jefford had started we could of pushed Archie forward and then had two very capable players down that side.

Then the whole game we were nowhere in the middle of the park, completely overrun. Could of started Francis at the back in place of Goldberg then pushed Parkinson in between the defence and midfield....all ive heard is how good there 10 is and we done **** all about it, this would of allowed someone to just stay on him.

We have 3/4 people on staff but tactically its been wrong at the start of games for a couple of weeks and takes 60 mins to change it.

Please don't start shifting Parky about - taken us long enough to get him playing in his best position as it is!

Like you I am quite surprised just how strong he was in his criticism - perhaps he feels it is the best way to get a response?? He was right in a lot of his assessment and the fact that we made simple mistakes like poor crossing and simply knocking poor passes around under no pressure.

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with that post-match interview, there is no doubt we just didn't show any fight or fire, as has been said before the attitude was more like that for a friendly match than a cup game.

BUT there was no shouting or motivation from the captain, or manager, on the pitch, it's all a bit late after the match to say how disappointed he is. He should stir things up a bit more during the game.

Ok well Gayle then, he' played there before...just a defence minded person playing 'makelele' is all we needed.

I think blame away from selves. Really has pissed me off how tactically inept we seemed to be because I know they are better than that.
