...about securing JT's services till the end of next season.
Provided I haven't missed anything next seasons definites are now JT, Guestie, Daisy, and Keds - a good solid core to build on. For my money I would expect these to be supplemented by Bods, Gleds, Leon and probably Mooro. Jury is out on Pins. Dependent upon who else we can pick up I would hope we could also retain Perks and Ashby where my concern is the time lost through injury.

Definately great news. Ked's has scored a hat full. Shame i haven't seen any apart from the ones in the match highlights on the official site. Obviously the league position shows we have a decent squad, i take it you go to most games also Bruno, what players would you like to see stay on next season and why? What's the individuals qualitys? Anyone else care to chip in that would be great.
Football is a game of opinions (and long may it remain so) and therefore any assessment of players is a very subjective matter and to a great extent is based upon our own prejudices. I am not expecting to get away with my assessments without cries of "Rubbish", "You don't know what you are talking about" etc and maybe the odd "I agree about…". Feel free peeps, discussion of matters football is what this forum is all about and with the exception of personal abuse I will take it on the chin.
The loyalty factor in me says keep the players who have done so well this season but I’m afraid that reality then kicks in and says that particularly if we make the National we need to be brutal and bring in some stronger players. What would change my opinion would be a Capital League reserve side where for example Daniel Moore would get what he desperately needs – regular football to prove himself one way or the other. One thing which applies to ALL of our current squad and goes without saying is their commitment.
Its no secret that my favourite player is Daisy though this year he hasn't had it all his way with players like Bods, JT Keds and Perks putting in consistently good performances. However, you don't just change your favourite player like you change your socks and despite having had a bit of a mixed season in my book Daisy on form is a joy to behold. His fighting spirit, foresight, playmaking, distribution and dead ball expertise make him in my opinion, the best all round player in our side.
JT has to be one of the best keepers in the League and is still developing. You don't keep 11 clean sheets in 36 matches unless you have that something. He does have 'Grobbelar' moments when your heart comes into your mouth and his kicking can be erratic, though this has improved dramatically as the season has progressed. Very much a team player who shares the joys and disappointments of those in front of him and can be heard to make honest assessments of situations which develop on the park whichever side they happen to.
Keds was a shrewd signing by Ade. He has commitment, can hold the ball up, fights for the ball, and best of all gets into goal scoring positions. Can be firey and does seem to have injury problems.
Bods one of Ade’s gems has taken the opportunity since his promotion from the bench in the New Year to show his worth. Quick, battles, has goals in him, stronger than his frame suggests, still developing.
Leon, another of Ade’s gems. Quick, strong, can cross the ball, confident going forward, still developing.
Guest a recent signing fitted straight into the side. Strong, good in the air.
Mooro, along with Daisy, survivor from last season’s side. I know not why but I have never taken to him. Strong, good in the air.
Gleds a pain to attacking opponents. Robust and fiery battler. Has a penchant for yellow cards.
Perks a great signing. Experienced and performs well wherever he plays (keeper next week?). Concerns as to his proneness to injury.
Stadhart is a player who has not lived up to my expectations. Hardworking, finisher but inconsistent.
Carthy recently returned experienced, quality player. Not lived up to the reputation he built up when with us at the end of last season.
Pins has not lived up to my expectations. Expected more goals from him. Battles and can hold ball up.
Ashby has been plagued with injury. Seasoned, big, strong, not unfamiliar with ‘gamesmanship’.
Owen inconsistent, middle of the road player.
Rowland has big reputation to live up to (prejudice strikes)
Clarke is positive and battles.
Daniel Moore promising, young, quick but has not managed to make the step up from the bench and without playing regularly its hard to see how he will.
Can’t miss the Manager out. Ade presents as an easy going guy but don’t let that fool you. He is a shrewd cookie on a mission and is not going to let anyone stand in his way. Keeps dressing room to himself (as he should) but I’m sure leaves the players in no doubt as to just what he thinks. Good tactician who has on several occasions puzzled the fans with tactics and substitutions but they have paid off handsomely. Considering he built the side this season (only 2 players from last year) on limited funds he has been remarkably successful - you don’t get that degree of success by pure chance.
That’s it peeps its over to you.

Quality to be able to get such a description on the players. Bruno i totally agree with you, football is all about opinions and it's the difference in opinions which make discussing the game so great. Can't wait to actually see the lads play and then i'll chuck some of my own into the hat.
Roll on the 17th v Eastbourne. (don't get me started on how annoyed I am that i have to wait that long )
I hope for our sake that we dont have a revolving door policy again at the end of the season. It is hard enough on the team but the supporters suffer as well as you spend a season encouraging and bollicking the life out of someone to find they are on thier way to being journey men.
This season for me our own "JT" has been fantastic, great communicator, even though at times he sounds like he is selling the big issue. Mooro has been emense and Leon is in a class of his own. Guesty looks good and comfortable in his role and augers well for the future. Gleds as I think we have found out wears his heart on his sleeve, great on his day but a bit of a hot head, for me a full back not in midfield where I think we have played him on occassions.
Middle of the park, and sorry for this but I dont think Daisy has done what was expected. Good deadball but loses posession and started great but has tailed off for me. Owen and Clarke work hard but we need more than hard work. Bods has come good and worth keeping
Up front, Keds a great signing but I cant see us holding him, he will move on and good luck to him. Che is a good player but maybe we havent played his game I would have thought we would have more goals from him.
Pinnock, unfortunate through injuries but probably needs to move. Barry Ashby, Good player but past it now, I prefered Lee Shearer. I agree with a few of the postings Daniel Moore needs more football, give him a few games and let him show what he can do or not do.
Steve Perkins started fantastic and has had a few injuries but his game suffered at times when we asked too much of him. Definietly worth keeping.
I obviously missed a few but overall if you said to me would I have accepted where we are by this point in the season its a no brainer. Ade has done a great job and is destined for better things. Messrs Hobbins for all the slating they have taken have done a great job in supporting him. Despite the slating the WSU have taken, things have moved in the right direction.
I think a revolving door in the close season is unlikely though irrespective of what League we end up in there will be some movement. I would hope that Keds stays and proves himself next season with another 20 goals (he must surely get the 2 necessary goals this season in our remaining matches)
I think that in my own way I was saying pretty much the same about Daisy's season but there have been matches where his quality has shone through. I think the comment about losing posession was a bit harsh as in the home matches he has been no worse than and better than our other midfielders.

I think your right re Daisy and I'm not critical of his game. I guess I'm maybe too critical as he is one of our better players and what is frustrating is that when you know he is so good that on an off day you know there is more to his game.
What I did mean to put in my posting but forgot is that maybe now is the time to maybe think about Rivs again and I dont know the chances about re-signing him. Maybe he has had his glory days at Fisher and obviously money is an issue. Two seasons have moved on and things may have changed but there are not many wings players who have had a "special" relationship with the fans and I feel he is one of them
Knowing how highly he was rated when he was with us I would be very surprised if Ade or one of his scouts had not been to watch him. However, I occasionally dip into the Fish's website and have read very little about him there so he hasn't been the big fish (scuse the pun) that might have been expected.
I was a dissenting voice when he went to Fisher believing that it was a retrograde step and that it showed lack of ambition. Had he moved back up the leagues at the end of a season that view may have mellowed but I fear that in Rivs we have an example of talent wasted in the cause of short term financial gain. I'm afraid the fact that he is still at Fisher speaks volumes to me .
