Thought the team worked hard and deserved to go in at half time by more than the single goal. Although Eastbourne never really troubled us, still had that nagging doubt they could sneak a draw. Romain chased any backpasses and was duly rewarded. The second changed the game completely and Welling grew in confidence. Good to see Archie back at left back. Not sure what he done wrong to justify dropping him in the first place. He (in my opinion) was a fundamental part of our earlier winning streak. Good result and hopefully we can build on it. Bloody cold though.

Not a great game but who cares! 3 points, clean sheet and I'll take that after the likes of Chelmsford away.
Romain was superb, keeper came out and read the balls well. Too early to say if the changes have made a difference but such a good response after a poor run.
This was a must win game for us and what we saw was a good response and a great result. However, let's not run away with ourselves, Eastbourne were there for the taking, I do not believe they had a shot on target the whole match and we shall face stiffer opposition in the future. Today the MOTM was certainly correct, when deployed through the middle Romaine was different class and let's hope his loan period can be extended.

I think changing dugout might of been to have a more centered view of the pitch.
Good result, but against the worst team I've seen this season.
There was still a sloppiness to our play especially when still 1 0 up in second half that better teams would of punished.
Romaine is gone as can't afford which is a shame, nice to see Archie play again and if it wasn't for the work rate of Romaine he would of been my MOM.
Whoever voted Jebb for player of the month shouldn't be allowed to watch football....
Romain shaded Olu as M.O.M for me. He will be missed. Agreed with Eastbourne being the worst team we have played this season but on the whole it was much better from our boys.
Just wonder what happens now Romain has gone and when Nanetti goes as it seems we have a lack of attacking options.
Wasn't a must win game as there are plenty left. Although couldn't drag myself down there after the festive **** served up. Hat off to all that attended. Will be there next home game back to normal. COYW

Really pleased to see this result, shame I could not go as I am on my sick bed.
Still a little concerned of course, as Eastbourne are probably the worst team in the league at the moment, (the match before even Whitehawk thumped them).
Still onwards and upwards. I think we have a nice little trip to the Town of Poole comng up.
With attendances as poor as yesterday Im glad we are being realistic with the budget. Romain is class, was definitely MotM, but he must be on a decent full time contract at the Daggers so understandable if we cant afford him. We will definitely need another out and out striker though and it was a shame we did nt give Macklin more of a chance. It would be good if we could get Eli Phipps back.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh When the Wingssssss
At last another three points after two months without a win!
As the manager has said in his post match interview it looked like two very nervy sides short of confidence in the first half but to get the first goal was vital and I felt that Eastbourne were there for the taking and we could have maybe had the game wrapped up by half time. Changes after the D******* debacle were inevitable and they nearly all worked out. Will have to reserve judgement on the latest keeper as he had precious little to do and Archie had a decent game although without having to do much defending. AA was certainly very vocal at the back which is what we need despite having our player/coach and player/manager there recently we are still predominantly a very quiet team.
I still think we are struggling with the balance of the team going from two wingers to no wingers in less than a week. Granted we had too wingers on the bench to bring on if need be. In fact I think we went through more formation changes than the Red Arrows at times on Saturday including our most potent striker playing at right midfield for most of the second half before reverting to up front. If that was his last appearance for the club then thank you to Elliot for his efforts which put a lot of our players to shame over the last few games - like most people I would like to see Romain remain if at all possible...
No time to get carried away as Langney were one of the poorest sides I have seen at PVR this season but, as the old adage goes, you can only beat what is front of you. Time to take stock now and get a few more training sessions under our belt and integrate the new players and the "new" off the field set up. We have seen that there is precious little between most teams in this league and the overall standard is very average so there is still plenty to play for over the second half of the season.
