Terrible news, Ive known Eric since I first started going to Welling back in the 80s
Always stopped to talk, a true gentleman and a devoted supporter
Think he will be missed more than any other person
RIP Eric
Very sad news indeed. Eric always had the club at heart and always had time for the supporters. A real asset to the club over the years and will be sorely missed. Theres only one Eric Brackstone....
I have known Eric for nearly forty years and there has never been a time, even when he was very busy, or, in recent times, when he has been struggling with health issues, that he has not taken the time to stop for a chat about Welling United or other important issues of the time.
In my view, since I have known him, he has done more for the club than any other supporter and despite all his problems was still managing to attend Wings' games. Indeed he was at the recent Dartford match.
He truly was, as Spills has said, Mr. Welling United, A lovely man. RIP Eric.
A lovely, lovely man. Always had time for you whether it was at the ground or elsewhere. Was Welling United to his core and remaind constant from his "bettabuys" days to today. The word legend is used too easily these days, however, in Eric's case that is exactly what he was and I am sure he will be missed by all.
RIP

In three words I can sum up everything i've learnt in life; it goes on.
The news about Eric passing is truly sad, I have such positive memories of Eric he was always smiling, positive and would always make you laugh.
Eric was Welling United through and through, he gave so much to our club in so many ways, he was a great help to WUSA when we were getting up and running, supporting the player of the month award too.
The memory that still makes me laugh to this day was his musical debut with Mr Taxman, giving it his all then. On behalf of me and I'm sure the WUSA committee we send our condolences to his family.
