Might be an idea to sort a manager out soon as players are moving between clubs now and you will get left with who is not wanted elsewhere and sign them for the sake of it. A manager needs to be in place NOW and trying to build a squad signing HIS players not players signed for him.

We can assume the club are in the process of sorting this out, but would be nice to hear *something* from the club!

I'd rather have Sixty Watt or Tom Watt, Hes inexperienced and never managed at this level for starters.

How about realistic managers who have experience and success?

Alan Dowson, Garry Hill, Ian Allinson, Jamie Day, Managers dont move to clubs in the same league? Clearly they do as Flanagan and Coyle managed in this league last season and are now at our good friends from Princes Park.

Good pedigree, did reasonably well at Margate but I suspect he may become the new assistant at Maidstone.

You missed out the most important one, Rowan Watt....

I'd love jamie day back but i don't trust him not to piss off at the first opportunity. Ia Allison wouldn't be too bad, Garry hill would probably want to much money.

No chance. He thinks that you can't even get a cup of tea at Welling.

Not sure we'd able to lure Gary Alexander away from his new role at Salford

Also missed was Dyaknow Watt, which people are obsessed with asking before making statements these days.

Not one of the names mentioned really inspire me, if Braintree hadn't won the playoffs I would of said go for Hakan Hanrietta (or however you spell it)!

Where is he now then? Coulda sworn I see his name mentioned in the report the other day!

Either way, worth a gamble?

As the football manager Steve King no longer has a contract with a football club and Welling United are looking to contract a football manager maybe the two could meet and both needs would be met.

Their loss has to be someone's gain after all.

Interesting

there are certainly a number of candidates out there, I just hope action is taken soon, on the management team & players or we will just be picking up the dross and facing a difficult start to the season, again!

If it is Steve King then he signed 16 players in September at Whitehawk. I know he had to start from scratch almost but just shows you there are players out there non contract/loans who can do something. Once he had them a short while they really picked up

John Still has resigned from Stonecladdinggrad and Mutants - another opening for the sartorial one. Early betting has Still heading for Barnet.

As alluded to earlier in this thread, the new manager (if there is to be one) needs to be sorted immediately, before the weekend would be good - things are on the move out there and our own players need to know where they stand.

There is no doubt stuff going on behind the scenes regarding these issues, I think what would be nice is something we forever lack...communication from the club.

Something along the lines of "we are in talks with numerous candidates and once the best option has been decided we will let you know" but as usual it's just radio silence.

Completely agree. Would have a big impact on positivity (or lack of) from the fans, by just announcing that things are going on, even if there's no time frame given.

Blimey I though Barrow was a long commute for him. Still good luck

We can rule out Steve Watt (if he was ever ruled in) as he has been confirmed as assistant manager at Maidstone United.
