Absolutely brilliant. Well done to the squad and management. Sooner or later we were going to take our chances and some team was going to be on the end of a hiding. Unlucky for Concord it was them. A great finish to a B/H weekend.
Great result well done. Had hoped to be there today but couldnt get a smudge sitter, did email concord to ask about dogs but no reply. Also phoned about 20 times always got an recorded message to call back. For that alone they deserved a tonking
Best football we've played in years over the last few weeks. The players totally deserved that today and full credit to them. Kick on from that and we will be an absolute force from now on.
I discussed the man of the match with some fellow supporters alongside me.
None of us could pick out a single individual.
Thought it an injustice to single any player.
Great team performance from management to players.
Cheers for the coach polo.
Still getting over the shock of the performance on Monday!
That must be one of the most comprehensive displays that I have seen from a Welling United side in some considerable time. Not only were we clinical in attack (about time some might say..) but we were also very solid at the back against a team with two big, experienced strikers who have been in the goals this season. The keeper did what he needed to when called upon and the two centre halves were strong throughout. We have pace at full back and the lad Banya has been a revelation in the last two games - given that we had three defenders unavailable at the weekend the back four individually and collectively were excellent. If we are playing 4-4-2 (especially away from home) then I want to see a bit of power and muscle in the middle of the park. I like JPK as a player but maybe his injury helped us in a bizarre way helped us on Monday as Ijaha was very strong when he came on in protecting the defence and allowing Jebb more chances to move forward. Look at the contrast in Jebb this season to last when he was often made a scapegoat and left out of the team regularly. This season he is sharper, has a manager who believes in him and is turning into a key player in this team. The two wide lads worked very hard and were a threat and deserved their goals. Kiernan is scoring for fun at the moment and Mccallum was a handful throughout as well. Again I am a big L'Ghoul fan and have no doubt that he has a big part to play this season but he was poor against Hemel - he needs to look at the two wide lads on Saturday and learn where and when to do his party pieces and when to move the ball on quickly to other players. Goldberg worked hard throughout and Mills was again very impressive. You could sense the supporters were all willing him to score and once he gets one I think he will get a few but his contribution to the team can not be in doubt. Well done to the management team also and I still saw the manager barking out instructions at 5-0 and berating players for sloppy mistakes.
Of course this performance will be largely irrelevant if we don't show up against Oxford on Saturday. We can't expect a display like the Concord one week out but we need some consistency and to start making PVR a fortress as it was under Daisy in the Conference South.
I dont suppose theres any film of the game. I cant see any on the Vanarama site or on Concords website either. Im presuming it was filmed as I thought the home side is obliged to film their home games. Unless Concord are too embarrassed to show it.
They bullied us at their place and deservedly won 2-0. Might have to come and take a look at you guys when were away and I cant go due to work. By sounds of you lot even the games you didnt win you did well.
