Well not really re subs, Lghoul gave away a dreadful penalty, I was fuming! Deserved the win but defending needs to be better, both soft goals conceded. Kiernan and Achempong were both superb. Banya looked nervous at left back, rather give Archie a go. Two on the spin, happy days.

A good result on a day when we could have dropped points. We were nearly outdone on our left side where, in the second half, Oxford seemed to get through at will. Another game where Mills worked his socks off and I am sure that once he hits the net more will quickly follow. Last Monday Audel was immense at Concord and today Ancheampong took over that role, IMO he was man of the match. If we can pick up points next Saturday with what looks like a depleted squad, I am sure we will be on our way.

Re substitutes. I thought we lost direction with the changes, Lghouls tackle was outside the box but with that bellend Packman as referee we all knew hed give a penalty. Banya against Truro was like a little boy lost but improved in the next two games. Today he sufferd from having no help from midfield. Second half they attacked down the right because they realised the midfielder was not covering back. It only got worse when made the changes. Audel is a liability at times. Hes been at fault several times by trying to be too fancy in defence. Again today hes tried to dribble out when the better option is to clear it up the pitch. Stupid mistakes are costing us almost every week.

Looking forward to the slow mo of the penalty incident. Looked way outside the box but that pillock Packman as he always does against us couldnt wait to give a penalty whenever he gets the chance even if its never a pen.
Cant fault their work rate. Thought Banya was a weak link in defence.
Keep racking up the wins chaps, its our year mate.
I thought it was the 1st time this season where we didnt have a sustained period of dominance. It was a bit frantic from both teams for most of the match. Id say we just edged it. Oxford City are a good side and will feel aggrieved that they didnt take point from the game. They will be a play off team I reckon. Bloody hell will Millss luck ever change. His overall work rate is superb. Last year we would of folded. This lot are made of stronger stuff thank Christ. Up to 4th now. COYW.

I'm glad someone else has mentioned how good Oxford City are. They've got into and established themselves in this league. They always give us a game and thry've taken a league scalp in the FA cup - away (Colchester).
Mark Goldberg came into the upstairs bar and sounded quite apologetic - he needn't have. City will give teams a game throughout this season.
What I like about this years team is so far they have never looked like a beaten side. Even against a Bi££er£cay. Credit to MG he has brought in an experienced manager, let him manage and now we are seeing a team that is clear on what their aims are. Not the nonsensical Coyleball we saw last season. As has been said before there are no weak links this year. I would like to see stats on Kilometres covered by this years team as opposed to last year. That would tell a story. And just think if Danny Mills does start scoring we will really start to motor............Calm down Calm down. COYW
Disjointed and lacked purpose today...don't know why after such a super result Monday......but we ground out a result so all good.....Mills outstanding work rate and holding up....we need a striker to be alongside him !!
I dont think it was as bad as some of the comments on here. We won! Ok we won ugly but the last few years we would have lost that game 100%. Oxford were good and to concede at 2-2 but still get a winner shows character of our team and more importantly Steve King. Plenty of things to improve but to win and know we can, and have played better, is very encouraging. AA was immense today and Kiernan superb first half.
My first game in a couple of years - so good value to see a last minute winner. Weird game where both teams were on the front foot for short periods without any sustained dominance. Seeing as I don't watch much, what's people's opinion on L'Ghoul? Went down hilariously like a pack of cards in the 2nd half clutching his face...!
Good to see kids still watching Welling from the trees behind the goal from when I used to go as a kid in the early 90s. Although they didn't throw bricks over the fence on to the pitch in those days...
Ebb and flow - a cracking match but mainly for the neutral without a portable intensive care unit! We not only have skillful players but also battlers - and Oxford matched us almost until the last. Undoubtedly they will trouble a lot of sides, as indeed will we - even with a depleted squad. The disappointing aspect was the attendance - especially after the superb win at Concord. Charlton were away, Millwall was a late kick-off and on TV so what is the issue? It is worrying because it must play havoc with our finances and could eventually lead to an unsustainable squad of players. A Cup run becomes more imperative, especially with an increase in the match-winning money. But, as usual, we are hit by injuries at a crucial time.
Danny Mills was excellent yesterday. His all round play deserved a goal and his workrate is exceptional. Never stopped closing down the opposition and I lost count of the number of aerial battles he won. He holds up the ball so well and then transitions our play into attack so efficiently. Just needs a goal and then his confidence will be even better.

LGhoul can be very frustrating. In pre-season he was outstanding. First game of the season v Dulwich they couldnt handle him so tried to kick him off the pitch. Hes a raw talent that Im sure King will manage to unleash. Re todays went down hilariously like a pack of cards he was caught by a swinging arm that cut his lip.

About time we had a little rub of the green results wise.
Having said that the facts are that we scored three, had one disallowed, one scrambled off the line (which might have been a penalty..??) and a few other near misses. They had two goals gifted to them on a plate, a "penalty" that was quite clearly outside the box after seeing footage of it and a few balls flashed across our goal. On the basis of that we could and probably should have won the game far more comfortably.
The first half was encouraging again aside from the soft goal conceded. Plenty of movement up front although I thought we got a bit narrow at times. I like Mccallum as a player but if he is playing on the right hand side he needs to at least threaten to go past his fall back rather than constantly cut back on his left foot every time. Either that or swap him over to the left from time to time and then he can take on his full back more. Kiernan is playing really well at the moment an can be a threat on both sides so swapping the wingers over is always an option. Mills once again put a great shift in and it was gutting when his "goal" was disallowed. The manager seems keen to get another forward in but his contribution to the team should not be underestimated. Second half Oxford did play well and cut us open a few times especially down our left. Banya has impressed me of late and I think he needed a bit more support in front of him. It was a daft tackle to concede the penalty and I just think L'Ghoul is trying too hard at times and still think when he settles down he will be a real asset going forward. I like the fact that the manager was proactive rather than reactive with his substitutions on Saturday and with the post match interview where he was very honest about the game as a whole and didn't sugar coat things at all.
Tough game at Chelmsford next weekend where it will be a battle but we have the personnel to do that. Hopefully we get a good number of Wings fans there to support the team. However we do need to cut out the soft goals we are conceding (Truro, Hemel, Oxford) as we won't get away with it every week.
