With the sell out Wimbledon v Portsmouth game the only one from the top four divisions taking place on Saturday in London, are the club planning any special offers for non league day on Saturday to attract fans from other clubs who do not have a game to go to?

Indeed we are according to official club twitter feed - an amazing £2 discount (so £10 adult entry) when you present your Premier League or EFL season ticket at the gate. Not exactly awe-inspiring is it?! Blimey, that's really going to give us a bigger gate.

Yes. Not enough reduction to tempt any wavering Charlton/Millwall or Premier League fans I feel and no mention of any reduction for over 65s.  Interestingly I went to a game at Solihull Moors a few weeks ago and they were offering half price admission on that day to holders of season tickets of all West Midland Premier League and EFL clubs. I think an offer of that size might well have resulted in a gate well in excess of 1000 on Saturday.

and if you don't have a season ticket for another club I suppose it's still £12? Not much of an incentive to local fans (who could become regulars) or for the fans who do already come along but are not season ticket holders.

Incentives could be; season ticket holders bring someone for £8, advance ticket sales all £10, group save on advance tickets i.e. buy 4 for 3, all under 18's free, NHS and forces free, schools/academies given freebies (parents discounted), Friday night Wings Bar vouchers to get people along the next day, all Bexley Council workers given discounted tickets (from council office staff to care workers).

The team and manager deserve more through the gate this season but can see this Non League Day not having much impact.

Vouchers in the programme for £3 reduction off next league match admission, or £2 admission vouchers for every £10 spent over OUR bars. Just a thought. Apart from one or two notable exceptions, such as Dulwich Hamlet, we do number among clubs in the National League with lower admission prices. At Hereford, for instance, you get a whopping £1 concession off the adult rate if you are 65 plus - however under 16s pay £2. If we have to attract new fans I guess we have to pitch tempting prices to youngsters and young families.

The club have made such a poor attempt at this. I think we can comfortably say the attendance figure on Saturday will be the norm. Excellent suggestions above made by all - shame the club does not share the common sense approach of the fans. How they came to the conclusion of this rubbish £2 discount being the best they can offer beggars belief really.

The admission price should be at least £9 for season ticket holders of PL and EFL clubs. Single figure looks more appealing than double figures! Might encourage a few more fans to come along. However a lower admisson price would be better.

We dont make money from the bar. Its been franchised out to two new directors so theres no point in having a bar offer tied into to non league day.

If you really want to boost crowds without doing the legwork on the community then make it pay what you want and for next season use the 99 pound season tickets that Woking, Sutton and Dulwich did and boosted their crowds massively.

Making tickets a tenner each will have no effect.

Yeah that cannot make sense. They have the disco Fri and Sat nights too don't they? The club is not receiving a penny from this or match day bar sales? Can't be right.

Guessing the bar pays the club a set amount each week or month and whatever they make or don't make is down to them.

Worth the fans supporting the Wings Bar though as it's a decent environment now and without the set income I doubt we could staff it properly. Fair play to the people who do run it - England games during the World Cup were good, real ale the other week and new events scheduled (new Friday nights, Halloween etc.). The bigger problem would be if we had segregated games for FA Cup matches or a decent crowd there's not an away bar we can profit from.

I don't see what the issue is here. We get exactly the same amount from home bars and away bars whether the crowd is 200 or 2,000.

I dont know the extent of the deal but  do know they are doing a lot for the club in the background. They also do sponsorship including our stewards among other things.

The guy who runs the Wings Bar runs the Wings Bar only. The club could still operate another bar (in addition) along with a tea bar etc.  At the moment only E&B benefit. Think of the numbers from Luton, Wrexham, Lincoln, Grimsby, Carlisle. Match receipts only. All comes down to facilities and staffing but has to be the aim with any development plans.

You don't think that if the club had a bar on the other side of the ground they wouldn't have franchised that out also? Come to it, don't you think that if they wanted to operate a bar, they'd operate their own bar?

Doesnt matter if we ran our own away facilities or franchised out. Still be earning.

As I said only E&B benefit at the moment when we have big games.

Just read on Oxford city forum after the Patterson news - Family of two adults two children get in for free this Saturday (non league day) just by printing the voucher from the website. What a fantastic offer, wish we had some creativity behind our thinking!
