A bit of a flat performance today but we got the job done. For a team at the bottom of the leagu Weston were a decent side. The standard of the league seems to have improved this year.

It was good to see us start with our best two forwards up front. I think they could be a good partnership but they need more crosses into the box.

My MotM was Thierry Audel. What a great season hes having.

Enjoyed the game today - surprised that WSM are bottom. Not afraid to play it out from the back even though they weren't a massive threat.

Very nearly a wonder-goal early on too, wonderful save from their keeper on to the bar. Good value ! Glorious finish by Paterson for the second.

Very complacent.
Great opening and thought we were in for a exhibition.
It would appear that the Welling side thought so to.
To have your back against the wall for the final third isn't good enough.
Made it a lot more difficult than it needed to be.
What a finish from Patterson.
If that was in the premier league, it would have made back page of all the red tops

Enjoyable result and some great goals today but we did seem a bit flat after our second goal. Weston played decent stuff, better than a lot teams. Paterson I wasnt sure about to start with but the goal today was outstanding and his goal against Gloucester was good.

Worst performance of the season yet we still won 3 1, don't think we were sharp enough, no willingness to press the ball and against better and more clinical team we would of had our pants pulled down. 3 great goals showed what we can do but you can't rely on that every week.

A good victory although we did seem to lose our way after the second goal. Pity about the alcohol ban while watching the game (that will effect the bar takings)...3 points that keeps us in a strong position

Nothing wrong with not being at your best and winning. Hopefully we can keep the results going well up to and over Christmas. If King does the double over that mob down the road then they will build a statue albeit a small one in the car park of the great man.

aAnother three points in the bag and more clinical finishing like we had in the Gloucester game. Weston are not the worst side that I have seen at PVR but they are bottom of the league and, whilst the possession stats are probably in their favour, they don't move the ball quickly enough and they only really had one clear chance to get a draw after a week headed clearance late on. I listened to their manager's interview and I think he is somewhat deluded. No credit to us for the three excellent goals and he conveniently seems to forget the two or three great saves their keeper pulled off and a couple of goalmouth scrambles that could have led to goals as well. So without playing particularly well we have looked comfortable defensively for most of the game and also might have scored five or six on another day. Credit to the manager for getting the tactics spot on and letting them have possession without really hurting us although their lad also took his gool very well - I can't remember the last time I saw a Welling game where all the goals were quality goals in their own way- great strike by Ijaha, great skill and composure by Pogo and then great desire by Nassim for the third.

Considering we probably only had one of the first choice back four playing on Saturday the two young full backs both did well. Ambrosine looked a little shaky for me in the first half but certainly had a good second half - not sure what we are going to do there when all five centre backs are fit (if that ever happens of course) Further forward I am not sure if 4-4-2 is the way forward with the current personnel. Whilst our wingers work hard on and off the ball they would be more suited to a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 in my opinion which would give them a bit more freedom to get forward and a little less defensive responsibility although having two new, young full backs playing might be one reason to offer them some more protection?? Of course we had the perfect pivot in Jebb to play the 4-2-3-1 formation and I thought we might have bolstered the midfield rather than stick another forward on when Pogo was replaced. I can understand going 4-4-2 at home but I think away from home we need to be a little more conservative in some games with an extra midfield player in and I am not convinced that Paterson and Mills are going to be a fruitful combination in the long term.

A break from the league again this weekend which is somewhat frustrating. I was expecting the Hampton game to be rearranged for this month but perhaps we were not unhappy to play it later so that we could have a larger squad available?? It certainly means the Christmas programme will be even more hectic than usual with us now playing 5 games in 2 weeks between the 18th of December and New Years Day.,,

Up the Wings!

Three great goals and an outstanding defensive display (other than their goal) is not all bad!
