Barry has tweeted that today was his last game as groundsman. What an amazing job he has done. The pitch today looked superb considering its end of season and two teams play on it regularly. Where is Barry going, does anyone know?

More importantly, who's doing the pitch in future? I can't believe he didn't get a what would be a very well deserved send-off.

I was introduced to the new groundsman yesterday but being a hectic day I apologise to him I have forgotten his name.

New Groundsman is very experienced and is currently working Part-time as Daggenham & Redbridge Groundsman and he will now do both (I think this is correct)

Barry is having a bit of time off I believe. He is going to be massively missed and will be a very hard act to follow, on and off the pitch, so to speak. Given the drought we had last Summer the pitch has been fantastic, one of the best I've seen all season at our level.

The club should do something I feel, maybe its an issue to raise with MG on the evening.

The concern I have is that if the new bloke is only part time whats happens if say the two days he works for us it rains?-How does the grass get cut then, maybe I'm missing something.

I notice on passing the ground today that we still have the fixture of the Chelmsford game advertised on the board. Cant ever remember seeing this before was normally taken down pretty sharpish after the event. Maybe the wheels have come off already

Barry was very busy on the pitch today cutting the grass. No doubt the Chelmsford sign was an oversight by the regular changer of the sign who is not Barry or Barrie.

edit just seen a post on facebook board shows Sundays game

Sounds problematic if we have a part time groundsman. Why would you not get Jordans to do it?

As I said before I have a feeling some of these decisions will bit us on the arse and have been poorly made.
