Well here we go again for another Play off final away from home. We have found Woking a very hard nut to crack this season. However I am confident we can put up a good performance and find a way to win the game. Pretty sure we will have a decent away following and hopefully have plenty of reason to make some noise and celebrate at the end. Just to say good luck to SK his management team and our bloody fantastic squad. Do us proud lads. COYW.
Whatever happens Sunday immensely proud of the club. That includes a lot of people but especially SK and the players.
Tough, tough game but even if we lose 4-3 to a last minute goal I doubt I will ever feel as bad as Dartford away in our last final. If we win then totally amazing. They are obviously favourites with most of their fans thinking they are too good for this league (they could be right by Sunday night) and you could also say we are punching above our weight but 11 v 11 come 3pm.
Nothing to lose.

Geographical restrictions (10,000 miles and a 9 hour time difference) mean that its going to be difficult for me to keep up with the game as it is happening.
Does anyone know if the game will be broadcast on the radio and if so which station? Im guessing the game wont be on the telly.
I hope so. If so, it'll be a well followed Welling play-off campaign from oppo BBC (i.e non-Kent) stations. It makes me wonder what would have happened had the Darts made it as well as us. At times like this, you know who's in your corner and who's cheering you on and it sure as hell isn't those at the Great Hall Arcade, Royal Tunbridge Wells.
Despite all the BBB stuff they always trot out ( we are a bunch of cloggers ) (We are a anti football) ( How dare this **** club dare to play at the same level as us) they are ****ting themselves. Lump on Welling United tomorrow your guaranteed a profit. ........................................ thats also guaranteed to catch something. Lol
According to a post on their forum the ref is the one who was the one we had against them at PVR. So hopefully 11 v 11
Doesn't matter who it is as cheating, anti-football, hoofball, Welling packed full of giants will undoubtedly spend 90 minutes playing the ref unlike teams like Woking and Chelmsford who epitomise all that is beautiful and all we love about football
Ill be there with my welling fiancé in the welling end.
Good luck, you seem to win when I dont want you to so if today you could when I finally do want you to that would be nice.
I guess your called court jester for a reason. At times this season welling have played both Chelmsford and Woking off the park. Lets hope that they can do so again today! COYW
Anyway. The London senior cup. 3rd in the league and a ply off final. Not a bad season. Well done SK the management team and the squad. Love this lot. COYW.
Id be pleasantly surprised if King stayed but heard similar things that heard about Coyle that the manager Chairman relationship hasnt always been smooth this season.
The general feeling is King will go but Id also say that the general feeling amongst the fans would be please stay.
Well done Steve King and his staff and the players. I still think it was a big mistake to let Coombes go and we never had enough fire power up front but after all the shiiiitt the manager and players have had to suffer with budget cuts this season they almost pulled off a miracle promotion.
A really good season with crowds up and some good football youd think its a solid platform to go again rather than rip it to shreds and start again. Theyve all earned another shot at it next season.
If Steve does go Id think most Welling fans will look back and be happy that we had him as our Manager rather than everyone hating him when he managed against us in the past.

Just got home after collecting Smudge from younger son. My oldest took me today along with my grandson. I am ashamed to say he supports a small team by Fulham Broadway but he was totally impressed by the wings today saying the best team lost. He could not believe how nasty some of the Woking fans were.
I agree it has been a great season and we can now take a short break before the 19/20 campaign starts. Lets look forward to history repeating itself. Loose 1-0 in playoff final then go on to win the league the following year.
Hope all wings fans, management, players, club officials, directors and sponsors have a fantastic summer and see you all in July (unless your there on Sunday or 22nd).
Agree best team lost today, the club can have a well earned break and as Klopp said today, we go again next season, this season has been a success hopefully Steve King can be allowed to keep the core of the squad and add one or two quality players to the team.
A BIG THANK YOU to all that have worked on behalf of WUSA this season, helping support ers throughout the season, and for today coaches
Unlucky lads. A lot to be justifiably proud of this season. Let's hope it's all delicately handled over the Summer. Eagerly anticipating the Mark Goldberg night next week.
Yes we had a good season but it might have been a great season...
SK has done well for us but yesterday we set up like 4-4-2 as always and even after threevchanges it was still effectively 4-4-2 Technically we were away from home and it felt like a containing job from the start and we were reactive rather than pro active. First goal was always going to be crucial and so it proved. Second half was like our player off game with Chelmsford the week before when we were ahead and sat on the lead. This time the boot was on the other foot and we huffed and puffed but didn't create much at all. Despite all the possession Wilks made more saves in the second half than their bloke. We had countless set pieces which landed every time on the heads of their three giant defenders.
Should we have started with L'Ghoul or at the very least introduced him at half time. At 0-0 he would have had much more space to work in. At 0-1 with them sitting deep he had little or no space to work in. Three games at Woking this season and three defeats with no goals scored says it all.
Well done to all the players and management for their efforts this season but, right now, it still feels like an opportunity lost for me...
I must say it was a bitter pill to swallow yesterday and i still have a foul taste in my mouth even now. Especially as their fans were so vile and inhospitable. They definitely benefited from being at home and having fans behind both goals at either end of the park, who got behind their team. Something which we struggled to do as we were so spread out. It was easy for the majority of their teenage fans to shriek at the top of their prepubescent voices underneath that tin shed and make some noise echo around. Anyway I'm getting resentful now. I think we were the better side on the day, certainly in the 2nd half. but you cannot deny that they defended well, doubled up on Kiernan and kept him quiet and kept mills out of the game with another tall lump as they did in the FA cup with Charlie wassmer marking him. Tactically Woking were spot on and if we had beaten them at home and finished 2nd instead of drawing 3-3 they would of had to come to the fortress that was park view road this season and it may have been a different story. It's easy to say now that king could have brought l'ghoul on earlier or changed the formation but he had to start with the team from the previous week that won against Chelmsford. He has done an amazing job this season with what he has had available to him. The question is now will he stay. I will not be there to speak with MG on the 22nd but the question has to be posed to him is Steve King staying on? I personally would love to see him and the nucleus of the team stay and strengthen on what they have built but watching interviews with SK over the season and speaking with MG i get the impression that they don't have the best of relationships and can see SK moving on and taking most of the guys with him. I really hope I'm wrong but I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all unfolds.
Just watched the highlights on YouTube. To me it is definitely a foul and penalty on LGhoul. The from behind camera angle which the ref has its a clear foul. The ref bottled it big time.
We got a big penalty the week before (and rightly so) but as you say refs bottle it, especially with the crowd behind Woking. Just proves how important being at home is and how the East Thurrock away team changes came back to haunt us.
Fair play though to SK and the team, when i was at Woking in January I thought we would crash and burn, certainly not get 3rd spot.

Wow - that is 100% a penalty! In real time, and from a long way away, it looked like Nass had stumbled and was trying to regain his footing but clearly not. The ref had a great view of it and should have given it.
I don't get this obsession with losing the East Thurrock game cost us home advantage. Woking had Gloucester at home on the last day of the season and lost with neither side having anything to play for. Whose to say that if they had needed a point or three in that game to secure home advantage then they would most likely have got them..??

Difference was our form going into the last few games was really good, Woking's was patchy so we always had that chance of pipping them to second spot.
