Great news about Wilks and there is definitely a player in there in Anau if he can become a bit more consistent.
Good to see that we now have three of last year's squad returning and hopefully a few more will sign on although, with a reduced budget, we are clearly going to lose a few of them.
We need some continuity (if possible) rather than having to change three quarters of the squad..
Glad to see 50% of the spine has been put into place (Wilks and Swaine), I would like to see a creative midfielder (Jebb?) and a focal point upfront (Mills would be excellent, but have my doubts if he will be returning for a second season) to complete it.
Dover were after him a week or two ago but they've signed midfielders since. I think Jebb needs to sign and prove his knee is ok. Many sides (including us) may deem it a bit risky to sign a big earner who may still be injured. Hopefully he feels he owes us something after being paid all last season while injured and anyway he would be getting fitter and still in the shop window with us.
People saying you want Mills back. We have Kudus who's not scored recently, possibly Brad who also doesn't score regularly in a 2 up front. Still want Mills? Who is going to score regularly? Just pray they sign a prolific scorer.

Exactly....Mr Danson is being a bit of a pedant...tee hee.....It is striker(s) we need.....we were lucky last year the goals were spread about but there were times a target man who scores would have been useful.....yes they cost money but maybe that is where we have to place a decent wedge of it
Mills was on a lot of money at Ebbsfleet of which we were paying half. It was never going to fit into the new budget
Too true, plus Hamlet are supposedly going full time this season and could be the big wage payers. According to a post on south forum by one of their fans since returning home they were taking £40k on Saturday games with bar, catering and admission. The hipster and pink pound no doubt.
