Following a discussion with Mr Goldberg this evening we have been given the go ahead to begin supplying a cask of local beer to home matches. I understand the 'Trelawny experiment' was quite successful so we will develop this and will look to do more than just one cask if things become particularly popular. We have purchased two jackets and ice packs to keep the beer cold and will therefore also be cellaring the cask(s) to ensure it's in tip-top form for the game.
The first beer to be supplied will be on Bank Holiday Monday for the Tonbridge match and will be Five Points XPA (Extra Pale Ale), a slightly citrusy and crisp half-American, half-Antipodean hop number.
We are then considering what to do for the Wealdstone game (unless there is indication of strong demand for the midweek Eastbourne), but it's likely to be something decent like Old Dairy Gold Top or Blue Top.
We have also elected to sponsor the Boxing Day match with Dartford and will look to develop a bit of a beer list for that.
Reminder that we are open on Monday at 1pm so pop in for a pint with us before the game (we should have at least a Porter, Bitter, Pale and Gold/Blonde on), but we will be closed after the game finishes.
Please do pop in and support the Wings Bar as we are doing this on a strictly not-for-profit basis for the club and are really hoping this develops into more than one beer each weekend.

On behalf of WUSA this is great news and gives us some great ale on tap, well done Nick and the Kentish Belle, let's get the bar nice and busy. Look forward to a pint or two on Monday
Congratulations to the Kentish Belle on setting up a perfect pint at a cool temperature on a hot day. Just a shame it had run out when I went for a refill at half time but I appreciate demand is hard to judge. I normally use the Hinge before matches, but if I know there is a good ale tapped by experts available in the Wings Bar, I will be there. Thank you. Oh, and the football wasn't too bad either!!
This is a great initiative! Been wanting so desperately for a decent beer to return to the wings bar after they stopped offering the different cask each week. In all honesty it did stop me drinking in there before and during the game. Thank you so much for this Kentish belle. If the fluid is there people Will come to drink it
Just wanted to thank all of those of you who came down and supported the Wings Bar and who dispensed with that cask of Five Points before the game had even started!
We're working with the Wings Bar and WUSA as we speak for the next draught beer which will be at the Wealdstone match on September 14th, where 3 casks have been requested. As you can imagine, this means you'll have just as much choice in the Wings Bar as you will at any other pub in Welling on the day and all at a very good price. We will also make sure we keep the beer so it pours just as lusciously as the XPA.
One final thing is that we will be working with London and Kent breweries (with the odd exception!) for this and will probably showcase particular breweries each time. The Wealdstone game has already got a brewery in mind but do send suggestions!
