Ive missed coming to watch Welling this season, Ive been watching our Wings for 35 years home and away across the length and breadth of the country. I have made a lot of good friends at the club and have seen some glorious moments and triumphs and stood and suffered some absolute rubbish as well....it goes with the territory.

What happened in the summer regarding letting King go and appointing himself (Goldberg) to run team affairs to me was unacceptable. Steve King was arguably the best manager at this level and was one of the best coaches weve had in decades. He brought in exciting players and last season was fantastic and with touch of luck here and there wed have pulled it off and be playing Conference football again this season (itll always be the Conference to me).

You see I have never been a Mark Goldberg fan since he almost liquidised my other love Crystal Palace with shocking mismanagement and questionable ways of going about trying to run a club, so when he took over at PVR I was less than impressed at his arrival.

Ive told everyone from the get go that this little escapade will not end well for our club and I still believe that to be the case.

Already with a dreadful spell in charge of 1st team affairs under his belt at PVR then just explain to me the reasoning of getting rid of King and thinking he could fill his shoes???
it was never going to happen was it? From the very outset talks of playing for a top half finish blah blah blah instilled no confidence or optimism. Far from building a base from a good season last year the club is going nowhere under his management, signing a million and one of his old has been mates from years gone by at Bromley and players on the fringes at Dulwich etc we are reaping what we sowed now and as I predicted sadly we just have a relegation battle ahead of us, in a division we should absolutely be competing in every year we have been hopeless according to friends who have watched the dross.

To further compound the frustration and anger, the news that our loss is Dartfords gain is even more hard to swallow. Whether you like the guy or not nobody can dispute Kingy will be a success at our local rivals, his contacts are second to none and Dartford will soar past us and with the right backing sickeningly Id expect them to be going close within the next 18 months........where are we going to be?? Overtaken by non league giants like Chippenham, Concord, Slough and Dorking while scrapping with Tonbridge to stay in the division.

I hope our supporters give Steve King the respect he deserves during our Xmas/New Year fixtures, he done a cracking job for our club and look at the downward spiral weve taken in the 6 months under Baron Greenback, the sooner he goes the better not just from the dugout but away from our club.

Welling is just a plaything for him to tinker with, a cup run and a few quid would be success for him although I hear next years budget is dependant on us reaching the FA Cup Quarter Finals!!! Although we could well have the biggest budget in the Southern League by then.

Just go!!!

We will be in a relegation battle unless things change, you would hope we have enough about us to finish above some of the dross in this league though. It is a remarkable fall from grace after last season however.

If everything stays as it is then we will be bottom half and if we have no motivation and don't prepare well then we will be looking over our shoulders. Hopefully we learn from this and everyone bucks their ideas up as its fairly embarrassing to be a struggling club in this league when its all been brought about by ourselves. Crowds were up last season, the vibe was good and the players and manager so nearly got promoted. We decided to start from scratch and set the targets low, that has always been the best way to get below par performances, tell the players its ok we don't expect much.

We got rid of one successful manager more or less by not offering a contract when he wanted stability, he is now getting a third world country competing with much better countries in the World Cup qualifiers and we got rid of another successful manager who turned us in to a side to be feared and who got results.

I hope some of the current players are embarrassed and show a bit of determination rather than come off the pitch and say that was rubbish, despite what people are led to believe they aren't being paid rubbish wages. Even if people want to blame the manager or his coaches, everyone can see the calibre of the players they have is better than a relegation battling team so they need to get the management out of a hole, because if we go down or just stay up how many of the players would you sign for next year? And if we do not sign them where is there next club going to be? You can't just turn it on when you feel like it or if we get in a relegation battle, that's dishonest and disrespectful to the management and the fans.

What needs to change? Attitudes, or maybe training and preparation, something isn't working and if you want to make other changes then that means management or players going.

Hopefully we knock out Eastleigh and earn some money for next season (I wouldn't waste any of it this season, the horse has bolted and it would be more money wasted)

I would be very interested in seeing Mark Goldbergs record as manager on this term and last.

As a wings fan for a while I must admit I have as much motivation for supporting the team as the current manager shows for motivating the team from the sidelines.

4-4-2 anyone?

I've got to ask what angle your going with this. What would it matter where they stand?

And also WUSA is a collective all with their own views no doubt, maybe some would agree and and maybe some wont.

Pretty much with you on this Jamo.
I would, however, have liked to see him stay on at Selhurst for a bit longer and properly ruin the club.

WUSA arent a political party with a manifesto and a party political line.

I know most WUSA members, a lot of them are mates of mine.

Quite simply some people will agree, some people wont, some people will agree and wont want to say and some people will think Im being harsh.

This is my opinion, my stance and its been my principal not to come to games this season (even though I miss coming) because I cant be hypercritical and I refuse to support MG.

As soon as hes no longer in the dugout Ill be coming back down and supporting the boys.

And I still have the A4 sheet of paper telling me how simple it is to catch a 75 from Charlton Village.

We even had our own Portakabin.

What more could a suppporter under the Gliksten/Sunley era want?

My fear now is that he promotes one of his assistants as a sop to the fans whilst still actually running things himself. That way he has the cop out of saying nobody could do any better

To think that this time last year we travelled to St Albans top of the league with a manager that was the envy of just about everyone in the league

Goldberg is truly the Arsene Wenger of non league - remember that title I won "x" years ago where you can still watch the footage on a VHS video recorder?

Its a shambles, an utter utter shambles.
Its infuriating, upsetting and scandalous.
It puzzles me how he can have the support of anybody associated with the club other than those who have benefited from choices he has made.
Its evident from being around the place that MG surrounds himself with his group of Yes men pandering to his needs and dropping down to their knees to feed his ego.
Nobody wants to say it like it is, nobody wants to rock the boat, I see the blokes around him kissing his arse and even some of our own supporters buzzing round him in the bar talking bollocks and brown nosing up to him.
Slowly but surely everybody is realising what a charlatan the bloke is, how inept at running anything yet alone running a football team he is.
Look at the state of us, look at where we are currently. In desperate danger of falling outside the 6th tier of English football for the first time since we climbed thru it decades ago.
I remember scenes of protest against Nicky Brigdens management over twenty years ago while we were still in the Conference and had only recently reached the FA Cup 3rd round. My God what wed give to have those problems again of fighting for our Conference survival.
This lot make that Brigden side look like Barcelona and Im embarrassed to have been a voice of discontent now when I witness our current state.

Goldberg is a disgrace, his management is shambolic, his idea of running a business is laughable if it wasnt so pitiful (wasnt it only last season we had no coach for away travel because they hadnt been paid??) he is driving our club into the ground for his own selfish and egotistical gain, its my ball and Ill do what I like he will never have my support at the club I love, I was there 30 years before he arrived and Ill be there for 30 more when hes gone and destroying some other poor club.
