Got a great record at levels 2/3 below, let's hope he can step up because if he can then hes actually quite promising.

Tried that with Oyinsan and that hasn't worked so let's hope for better luck this time around.

A quick search suggests that he is not that big/tall so let's hope he can "make it stick" which management and supporters have all seen is clearly missing.

Good luck to the lad.

Jamie Philpot would have been half the wages and is non contract scoring goals at a higher level .

Lets hope he does the business but this is a strange one.

Saw nothing in last nights performance. Caught offside about as many times as he touched the ball.

First game, Probably no training sessions yet. Probably not met his teammates until last night. Coming into a side struggling badly. A big step up in level.

I think we should cut the fella a little slack.

Correct. Signed yesterday and had never met any of his team-mates concerned. There was frustration when he ran down the wrong channels but what could you expect? He looked lively and I definitely think that he has a lot of potential.

I can hear the excuses now hell need time to fit in, its a step up in class etc etc, surely the point is that we dont have the luxury of time to get the guy performing, a loan arrangement for a striker from a higher league may have been a better bet.

what the last few weeks has confirmed to me is that being a football manager is a career for professionals not a hobby for amateur enthusiasts.

Only just met his team mates, stepping up a level blah blah blah, Doesnt excuse getting caught offside at least half a dozen times in the first half.

So Goldberg said part of the reason we did not enjoy success during his first spell as manager was because he bought the wrong type of player and bought Isthmian League players. What's happened now? He's gone and signed a bloke from ****leshell Bay.

What's so different now compared to then?

I wasn't there last night and it must have been very frustrating to keep repeating the same mistake. Maybe, just maybe, those runs worked at a lower level as the defenders weren't so good/quick and he didn't have to time his runs quite so well. Also we need to understand the way he plays and vice versa.

Still think he deserves to be cut a little slack here.

I agree. It seems that he likes playing off the central defender's shoulder and then using his pace but defender's at this level are a bit more street-wise so he will have to work on that. However, he was not the only player to be caught offside by a team who are clearly well drilled in that aspect of defending.
