Really good performances all over the pitch today but I thought Montel had his best game in a Welling shirt.

Cannot understand why he was substituted.

Great win. I wonder if the teacups were thrown before the game and demanding better?

Hopefully the next game sees another good performance, well done all.

Really good interventions in the park by Dymond; Ming was fantastic (and the red card was extremely one-sided when the Ref was pre-occupied in another corner); Montel was excellent and I rate him highly amyway; Widdrington looked dangerous and hungry; Henry was a belter and Cookie always puts in a shift. Wilks equally good. Like a new team today and long may it continue.

Before I forget, Dan Wilks didnt have much to do all day, but the second half save when he parried a thunder bolt over the bar was sheer class, reminiscent of Dulwich away last season.

Just pressing them and playing further up the park allowed the midfield to actually get involved.
The past few games, we have sat very deep.
Although this makes conceding a goal beneficial, it does nothing in regards to scoring.
Purely due to not having a midfield outlet when you gain possession.
Yesterday we got the mix spot on.
Hopefully this infuses confidence in the whole side.
Every team in this league is beatable.

Widdrington made the difference for me.....playing as a 10 alongside Korrey really worked....

Very good result. I think we played the right team at the right time to install some confidence.

Let's be straight, they are on a massive downward spiral, manager left for reasons unknown, in last 5 they only picked up 1 more point than us and conceded 9 more than us in the process.

But, as the saying goes you can only play what's in front of you and to do so with what sounds like a good footballing performance then that is a positive.

Hopefully it continues, St albans is very winnable, their record recently is played 7 lost 6 won 1 (against us). But we should be in better shape now.

Well I wasn't expecting that on Saturday afternoon!

Nice to see us out of the traps fast and, after a couple of near misses, we finally scored and you could almost visibly see the confidence boost throughout the team. I don't know if we stumbled across that formation and/or personnel by accident but everything fell into place in that first half an hour. Widdrington looked very effective as the link man between midfield and attack, Agyemang controlled the midfield with Dymond mopping up around him. I have often been critical of Cook on here but he was much more effective playing wide (and staying wide most of the time!) He put in a great couple of crosses in the first half which could/should have lead to another goal. Braintree were neat and tidy on the ball but very lightweight and we basically over powered them in that first half an hour but also played some good football ourselves. As MG alluded to the foot came off the pedal at the end of the half but it would be harsh to be too critical about that.

Second half was really spoilt by the red card. I can't believe someone would get involved (well I probably can actually..) when we are 4 goals ahead and cruising in the game. This is not the first time Ming has been involved in an act of petulance and, sadly, I doubt it will be the last. He has arguably been our best player so far this season but that doesn't excuse his behaviour on Saturday. He started the season with a suspension and will now have another three game ban to come which we can ill afford. We coped quite well on the whole with a man down and Wilks made a couple of great saves during the game when called upon. Of course the plaudits will go to Henry (and rightly so) and I hope we can keep him beyond the initial month.

Great to see some of the old legends back and I think we should get them back every home game if they bring that sort of result with them!

Up the Wings!
