Suspect MG will argue the newco is needed to attract/raise/hold investment ......and/or that the CIC doesn't allow for this transformation in the future of the club via a CIC.

You will hear that this newco is absolutely what's needed, innocently to be the vehicle for the investment.......

Though the vehicle might well leave tyre burn marks on the road when it speeds off in MG's sole name..... leaving the CIC paying the newco a licence fee/rent/loan payment.

The only real, real asset at the club is the lease on the ground, and the newco will wrestle that from the CIC.

I have no respect for MG as a businessman. His track record is questionable. So are his tactics.

Trust Matt will do right by the club/CIC, but he can only go on what he's told, and sometimes that's half truths, smoke and mirrors and a moving target.......

Back to the game itself.

It looked to me like two sides struggling for form and desperately short of any confidence. As HL alluded to in his interview the first goal was always going to be vital and even more so when, if we don't get it, we seem to fold like a pack of cards at the moment. Eastbourne are the lowest scorers in the entire league and, yet again, we hardly make them work for their goals. I will hold my hands up if the other team scores a belter or two but that just isn't happening at the moment.

Second half we had more possession and looked a bit more lively (not difficult) but part of that was down to Eastbourne declaring at half time and protecting what they had. We went from 4-4-1-1 on Saturday to 4-3-3 apparently in the first half and then 3-5-2 early in the second half. I understand we have to try something different if Plan A is not working but it seems to be panic stations at the moment. What are we going to do tomorrow - apart from Wilks in goal we might as well draw the next 10 names out of a hat and go from there. The fringe players and those that hadn't started of late were given a chance and I don't think any of them really took it.

Much has been made of the "discussion" between management, players and supporters at the end. Whilst I applaud Langton and Waldren for speaking to the supporters the words are a little hollow when the team haven't performed for the second game in a row after supposedly getting a rocket after the game on Boxing Day. Too much whining and sniping on the pitch and no sign of any team spirit as far as I can see (apart from having a chuckle with an old mate on Boxing Day when you are 0-3 down if that counts...??)

I would like to say that it can't be worse tomorrow than the last week but I am not so sure at the moment! There are experienced players in our squad, players that have played at this level or higher in recent years and are capable of playing much better than they currently are. However they need to show a bit of fight and effort both individually and collectively at the very least. SK will be expecting another three points and so will their supporters - it would be nice to put up a fight and give them a better game than we did (in the second half at least) last week.

Up the Wings!

On Website From Mark
Dear Supporters

As we approach the new year, we reflect on the disappointing start to our campaign this season, especially in light of last seasons success which involved reaching the play off final despite the financial repercussions that unfortunately could not be repeated again this season.

I apologise to supporters for having to suffer the disappointment of our form on the field and the recent embarrassment of losing to our neighbours on Boxing Day, followed by further defeat against Eastbourne two days later, heightened by the fact that I am away during this crucial period.

I acknowledge the criticism, especially without the knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes and I also understand that if I was paying a manager to do the job I certainly wouldnt expect him to be away during this crucial period. However, as hard as it is to admit, the financial pressures of supporting our club has taken its toll on me and I make no excuses for needing to take the time out with my family.

It is also clear that the performances on the field havent helped and I will be addressing this to do my utmost to provide the changes we need to get back on track early in the new year.

Meanwhile,we have a massive game on New Years Day and I truly hope you all are prepared to get fully behind the team as they need you right now while confidence is low. There is nothing like hearing our supporters get behind the team even when he are on a run of poor form.

I also want to wish all our staff and supporters a very happy and healthy new year and promise to do my utmost to provide a better outcome for the team during the second half of our campaign this season and hopefully also generate progress in our quest for new stadium facilities to ensure our long term sustainability.

Very best wishes

Mark
