Financial stress? From a squad entirely recruited and contracts negotiated by the chairman.
He probably is embarrassed and sorry, hes admitted going on holiday isnt on but has said he needed to, fair play. However work double hard when he comes back and have a plan to improve things.
Whether new coaches, training twice a week, new formation etc etc.
To just plod on or get rid of two and bring in two WILL NOT WORK, it has not worked all season.
I'll be very interested in how the new stadium facilities provide sustainability to the club.
If its just stands moved or pitch turned round to allow flats built with no 3g pitches, function rooms etc then i would be confused how that benefits us especially as it looks like a NewCo will over see things.
Need to wait and see what facilities are brought in and WHO owns the facilities and has full control of them and the revenue they generate.

The message is a joke, makes a mockery of his actions over the last few years, and shows him to be culpable of the mess, incapable of change (same things happening over and over), while charming everyone on the back of the stadium stuff.
MG has registered a new company, and is in the process of circumventing the CIC
That could be an outrageous fraud if set against the motives for setting up the CIC - no one would do that would they?
Over at AFC Wimbledon, the fans just blocked a capricious move by the CEO that would have a sell out the club to the founder of ASOS for 10-20% ownership......[drumroll], because they need a new stadium!

We could all do with a holiday, and not because of stuff that's our self doing.
Maybe this time something is going to happen with the ground, but history says it wont and until it happens myself and everyone else reserve the right to be sceptical.
Same with the NewCo, if didn't have a history of failures and mistakes then wouldn't be such a problem...
Says will will do utmost to make changes on the field. Only change needed is the manager and coaching staff.
I think from the outside threes a feeling of you supporters being treated like mugs and its funny but feel a little sorry for the way youre treated. Its so wrong.
Then theres an odd post actually understanding his point of view and almost accepting it.
You could of still had Kingy at the helm and with his contacts you wouldnt need to over spend. But look who Im telling, you know better than I do.
Different clubs, rival supporters etc etc and all true but were all football fans and Im stunned how hes treated you lot and tried to justify it. The fact some appear to of accepted it is mind boggling.
Sadly we dont have a council to give us a £7 million stadium so we can be self sufficient and earn from 3g pitches, golf course, conference facilities and fly through the league like Dartford have.

One difference there being Darts own their stadium (or?), and what MG is trying to do is get the stadium in his hands by controlling the lease that Bexley "give" us .
CIC will not own or control the ground. WUFC's landlord is LBofB. WUFC's future landlord could be MG, or his cronies.
Be careful what you wish for.

I think this is one the major problems over the past 30 plus years. The council have never updated PVR, backed the club, invested any time or interest whatsoever. They could have funded a plan to redevelop the ground themselves and created housing, jobs etc. When you look at how Thamesmead had money available to them a few years back and how other boroughs have backed Dartford, Cray and Bromley we really have been left behind.
We will have to see what happens in the new year but would having a new landlord be any worse?
My point was about the council pre-MG where they could have redeveloped the ground, not to financially help the club but simply provide up to date, safe facilities where they could have benefited from housing and other things. You only have to look at the terracing to see a landlord should be putting that right. Bromley have backed Crays new ground and Bexley backed Thamesmead. Hopefully Bexley might get behind us in the future.
Not going along with that. And avoids the central question: How is it in the club's interest to give away the greatest asset, to one person? Namely the lease.
But ok, the ground was well looked after over the years, and always made the ground regs.
Recently the place hasn't even been painted, fences falling down etc.
Current Pitch is like a cow patch.
Thamesmead are really not a good example

Do they?
Yes we do.
However we know weve been lucky and we appreciate it every day.
In reality while we may have a little laugh at you down the road however I would think most rival supporters would want all clubs to have stability and a future (I am not saying you dont but from the outside looking in it seems a concern)
were all football fans and love our clubs so I want to beat you guys on and off the pitch and love the derbies but hope everything else at your club enables you to use support your team with no other worries.

Not sure we know all the details yet

Only just
Recently the place hasn't even been painted, fences falling down etc.
Agree and just shows how much work Barry did and how much constant repair is needed
Current Pitch is like a cow patch.
I actually thought it was worse a few months back but yeah not as good
Thamesmead are really not a good example
Didnt stop the council providing many millions (4.5?) before it all went wrong
I thought welling Utd and the lodgers signed a joint lease extension about 10/11/12 years back for quite a long period ?
I believe the late/great Eric brackstone was wufc Rep on pitch day of announcement ?

Can someone confirm ? Happy to be corrected ?
In my short time of going to PVR (around 16 years) I certainly remember a table being put on the pitch and a lease being signed. I thought Graham Hobbins signed with John of E&B and it was for 25 years however I could be wrong.
I guess it comes down to the number of bidders and what bidder offers Welling United their own ground , modern facilities with revenue streams. Fans can then back or protest how they see fit. We have no idea how much the development could be worth or one or two sites in which case one of the bids may include a free ground from the council. I am pretty sure that any redevelopment still needs Welling United to be found a home. So hopefully when any development gets announced we will see who the bidders are and who looks after us best.
Yes Dartford own theirs. I know the guy at Dartford Council who worked hard to develop the bid with the football foundation. Work that Bexley Council could put in if bothered, and also Welling could do if they built relationships with council / community.
We're going down one road. The road our Hobbins family worked so hard to avoid.

No, Dartford do not own the stadium, the council very kindly built and paid for it but it's still council owned.
We used to own Watling Street, a fat lot of good that did us, it just made a handful of people rich at the supporters expense.
I feel your pain and like most Darts' fans, I sincerely hope you guys survive whatever it is that's going on at your club.
I can't pretend that it wasn't a lot of fun for us today, but we can each only have fun days like this if both our clubs survive.
