The leagues below have announced that the season is over and that their leagues will not be completed. I wonder what the National League will do.

From what I have been reading here and there the opinions are the NL are waiting to see what the big boys are going to do in the Premier and EFL. Lots of conjecture about ending now, no promotion, no relegation etc. However that would make some clubs happy and others going straight to their lawyers.

Other thoughts include finish playing this season when allowed but players would be out of contract. Could anyone imagine the last few games in our league where every club fields their under 18 squad. Of course if this happened then the start of the next season would be delayed. Many clubs including Welling United already have the pitch work booked in and it could prove difficult to change the date of this.

Another problem facing all clubs not just ours is the lack of income. I notice that a certain club with  a DA postcode that we usually play around Christmas time was allowing an increase in shareholding by its members to gain some much needed funds.

Personally I do not know what the answer is because, to paraphrase, you can please some of the fans some of the time but you cant please all of the fans all of the time.

Hope you are all safe and well and look forward to meeting up sometime in the future.

According to some Tweets that I have read, the National League have asked the FA for assistance in cancelling the remaining fixtures. What that would mean with regards to promotion and relegation, I don't know. I don't believe that anybody should be promoted/relegated from a league that has 25% unplayed but Wealdstone would probably disagree.

Hungerford and Braintree would disagree as they could survive although unlikely. However taking the mathematics into it a lot of teams could go into the relegation zone if the results went against them so many would possibly be happy to finish now.

Lets face it , any solution other than playing the remaining games will favour some and annoy others. As its very unlikely the game will be played before players contacts expire there doesnt seem to be an equitable solution

stay safe everyone, its a sobering thought that there will be a few empty places in the crowd come September

Just read a post on conference forum that all leagues below us have ended and results expunged. Surely this should go for all leagues as now the league below cannot promote to us and have no room to accept relegated teams. Or are we going to see a situation where us and teams above promote and only teams above us relegate. I do hope they sort it soon.

They could reduce the league to the team(s)that had played the lowest number of games and nul and void those matches played above that in the league ,that might work

I mean the new channel island team Jersey Fc have played 27 won 27

Just read on conny forum 66 lower league clubs have sent open letter to F.A. asking they reconsider. Seems an M.P. has suggested the clubs contact dept of Media, Culture and Sport or whatever it is called.
