Certainly is! Be good to hear from MG a more concise statement about contracted players who might have to be/are furloughed, ground updates, Club financial situation etc.

Repeats himself frequently but more realism than I have seen thus far whilst still not really addressing the absolutely fundamental issue. However, better than most. It all seems to hinge on a vaccine, which, as I understand it, 17 years down the line we still do not have for the similar SARS. Even if there is one, you then get into the human rights issues of whether it is mandatory or its effectiveness if it is not. As I understand it the efficacy of the annual flu vaccine is variable.

His basic premise is I cannot ask X, Y and Z to do this if it isn't safe. Well it may never be safe by the current standard set and nor may many other things. In the end this may well come down to people saying we are prepared to accept the risk and we want to do this, on both sides of the white line. Currently, in the furloughed environment, not many having to make that decision. Post furlough, which can't be sustained indefinitely, many will have to confront that decision in all walks of life.

A hundred years ago, cholera, typhoid, TB, smallpox (and frequent wars) did for a lot of people at earlier ages and those who grew up around them better understood the hazardous nature of life and inherent risks in living and achieving what they wanted. We have been well insulated for the past fifty years and are having a refresher course which will recalibrate quite a few peoples thoughts....

I think the evidence is starting to show that the full lockdown has been a waste of time. The R rate likely dropped below 1 just before lockdown when people started taking their own precautions. The evidence also suggests that the virus disappears quickly when outside.

With this in mind I don't see why the 2020/21 can't kick off on time or perhaps a month or so late. Clubs like ourselves may need to limit the amount of people in the bars.

Government advice might be for the more vulnerable to isolate for longer but I think this will have to be voluntary.

Players at our level will have to accept a pay cut because of the clubs loss of revenue. There will be a lot of players released from professional clubs who will be cutting back on their squads of 25-30 players.

He does love doing a statement?

Theyre just a tiny club that played the academy system and got a great tie in with Arsenal. I wouldnt go to a restaurant with him and have no interest in his opinions.

He did know how to play the system though which brought in money and allowed them to punch well above their weight

The person may be deemed an irrelevance but sometimes their viewpoint can be learnt from. A point you have proven on here a few times over the years!
