WELLING UNITED SUPPORTERS WE NEED YOU!

We have set up this page to help support the rebuild of our playing squad for 2020/21 season. Little did we know our home fixture against Billericay back in March was going to be our last fixture until October. COVID-19 has been tough for everyone, not just for the health of the nation, but also a multitude of businesses.  Non-league football has been hit hard and with no income generated since lockdown began.  We want to do all we can to support the club and focus on boosting Brads playing budget for the coming season.  WUSA (Welling United Supporters Association) donate to this fund and administer this as we have done for each year since WUSA began in 2010.

This is not just a WUSA project this is for anyone that cares about our great football club, we have always been the fighting underdog and now more than ever WE NEED YOU to support the fundraising effort, we are the 12th man and have just over two months to help get us back on our feet and supercharge us for the start of the season and help enable us to build a squad that can compete in the Vanarama National League South

In Brad we have a great manager, joining us in January and turning a relegation battle into pushing us up the table and even giving us belief at one point that we could even get into the play offs.  Lets show our help and really get behind the scheme.

For every person that donates £10 , you will automatically receive a ticket to enter a draw, so for example if you donate £50 you will have 5 x draw tickets.

Here are the prizes:

4 x guests for matchday experience for game of your choice

Signed shirt from all the Welling Squad and management

Place in the Welling United squad appear in team photo and in the squad listing for the coming season in each matchday programme and receive your squad shirt at the end of the season

Brad Quinton to coach your team for one training session or a team you nominate (could be a junior side)

Your company to appear on the back of Brad Quintons tracksuit or training kit

The draw for these prize will take place at one of our opening home fixtures in October.

Lets truly get the wings flying again.

Here is the link to donate or share.  Thank you for the great support so far.

Hi Matt

Great to see this up and running and subsequently I have donated to the cause.

I was wondering are you able to expand on the £18k target total; why this amount and what this would help Bradley achieve in terms of the coming season?

Thanks

Hi Jimmy. I believe it's been worked out that this would be an additional £500 a week over 36 weeks for Brad's playing budget. There's no secret that the club will be working with a reduced budget as will many non league clubs with the current world we are in. After discussions with Brad he feels that with the budget offered and ideally this additional funding, it could make us significantly more competitive with the squad we can put together

Excellent initiative with superb prizes.

Good clarification, which means the crowdfund-er will secure the wages of about 1.5 players (taking into consideration NI and employer contributions)

Is there an end date for funding in October for this (by first game) or will it be open for donations throughout the season?

Yes scheme will run throughout the season via boost the budget.  This is the main booster fundraiser that will finish on 3rd Oct as this has prizes attached.

We spoke about this at our WUSA committee meeting (online) tonight and noted not everyone is happy to make card payments. If you wish to contribute by cash this can be done to me in the club shop.

Where does the 15% tip go? I was ready to donate but I want all of the money to go to the fund, and not some to the website owner.

Think it just goes to the website owner to find the software. Set tip % to 'other' then for amount 0

Hi Mark,

You can change tip settings to zero, it is not clear until you reset it.

Cheers

Matt

Thanks Matt, It didn't let me do that on my phone. I'll try on my laptop.

I got caught by that, paid a tip before I knew where I was. Money I would much prefer to go elsewhere.

I think everyone who buys a streaming pass should go for the £10 option. That will pass £2.50 to the Go fund me fund. Its only what we would pay for a programme anyway.

As payment is made directly to 24/7 we cannot implement this at the moment, I am looking at other ideas
