Hello folks. My name is Giorgio. I have only posted a couple of times on here before and I do not go to Welling very often as, to be honest, my loyalties and commitments do not lie entirely with the club. I have had a season ticket in the past but, until now, my passions have been in getting to see a game at as many grounds as possible. The past three seasons I have had a season ticket at West Ham (I am not a West Ham fan) so, with my desire to ground hop when they are away, I have not been able to see a game very often at Welling during this time. However, I doubt I will be renewing my West Ham season ticket so hopefully I can get to Welling more often this coming season. The problem is this Covid business has changed everything. I will be going to see Hullbridge Sports play in the cup on Tuesday (my first game since March) but all of a sudden I am wondering, do I really want to go. What do I do it for? This break from football because of Covid has been great for me to be honest. Another few months of it, or more, would suit me fine. I am now wondering whether I should take a break from going football altogether. Maybe by going on Tuesday, my outlook will change and I will be raring to go once again.
The reason for this post is not to tell you about myself. Every year, before the season starts, Welling contacts fans asking for help to get the ground ready for the start of the season. The past few weeks I have got involved for the first time managing to help out for a couple of hours on a few occasions. It has been disheartening to see how much work needs doing. Yesterday I saw a couple of people get started on removing the moss on the away terracing. There is an awful lot of it. I am scheming to get to the ground a couple of times this coming week to continue the good work. This post is to ask for help. If anyone can spare an hour or two (or more) it would be much appreciated. I have only been committing a couple of hours myself per visit but that has all been heavy work. I figure removing the moss being a lot easier so I may spend more time at it. If you can make it, can you please bring some tools, if you can get hold of any. I will be bringing a wire brush and I believe I still have a wire brush attachment for my cordless drill which should make light work of removing moss from all the nooks and crannies. I will also be digging out a few painting and decorating scrapers. If you can bring any of these items, it would be great.
If you can help please contact me on 07956 822 688 to arrange a good day/time.
All the best.......Giorgio.

Just want to update here but it is my last post in this thread - I am now sticking to the, 'It has to be said', thread.
Pressure washer was a no go for the terracing. I would have been happy to hire one out of my own pocket but the club hasn't got a power lead to reach the away terracing. I did it all by hand with the most meagre of tools (please see the other thread mentioned for update on how I got on with that) in the end.
Has anyone got a pressure cleaner? I've been told it's the best thing for cleaning up the terracing.
I have one, you are welcome to it. DM and you can have it. A gift to the club....but you'll need a very long hose and a very long power lead, and even then, it will take you 5/6 hours to pressure wash a terrace.
I'd personally look at some Moss killer (vinger?), mixed with a bucket of water and then use a hard broom to get rid of it.
