Dan Wilks has already wished Concord well for next season which suggests that he will not be staying there. All sorts of rules must have been changed as it was last season's FA Trophy final so he was cup-tied having played for Welling.

Rather obviously, as EFL clubs can't compete in the Trophy...

No, but Harrogate weren't an EFL club at the start of that campaign, the campaign in which Dan Wilks represented Welling United.

I am so confused! When, where.... :)
Last week's FA Trophy final was last season's climax. Harrogate Town defeated Concord Rangers and Dan Wilks was on the bench for Concord. This season's final is still to come.

As you say, Wilks played for us for the same period of time as Harrogate were a National League club. As you can't play for two clubs in our League as the same time, explain how the two instances are different re the rule set not applying.
Well its quite simple really without you wanting to make it complicated.
The league allowed it because of the fact that most N/L clubs have players leave at the end of season and then chuck covid in the mix.
If a player left Concord for Braintree for example what was they ment to do come back for one game?
