- What those members and their votes/influence has had on recent club decisions.
Thank you,
Wings Fan
I refer to my post on this forum dated 19th June.
To join you can do so by filling in a membership form in the club shop on on match days and other times when open as advertised on this forum. Membership costs £10 for adults and £5 for juniors and runs from 1st July to 30th June each year. The pre pre season facility to renew or join by paypal or bank transfer has now been withdrawn as we are again playing.
Members get a discount on non sale items in club shop, reduced price coach travel if run to away games, a discount on most drinks from the bar and a 50% discount on the hire of our speed test equipment (ideal for fetes or birthday parties). WUSA members also get to vote for their player of the month.
I am not prepared to say what our membership is until I have sent out my next newsletter email to members. (Possibly Monday and certainly no later than Tuesday as it will include something time sensitive). This is because they are entitled to know that information before anyone else. However I will say our current membership is the highest it has been for three years with an increase of over 20% on last season. In previous seasons renewals have dwindled however this year only 6 members have not yet renewed and 3 of those have already indicated to me they will be seeing me at the first home game they attend.
If you are referring to the recent use of money from boost the budget WUSA members voted at our AGM to pay a certain sum to the playing budget as we have done in the past.

Thank you Square Van Man. Is it yourself that deals with membership enquiries. Sorry, not in WUSA, dont know.
Sadly Im not likely to make too many match days in the near future due to work commitments. From the other times mentioned in your other posts about the shop it seems Monday morning or nothing, which I imagine isnt ideal for anyone with a job or younger people when back at school/college imminently. Its going to be a little difficult for us to meet in person in the near future, although I wouldnt have thought meeting in person is needed to join WUSA surely?
What information do you require on a form that I cannot send by email or other 21st century means?
It would appear I owe you/WUSA a tenner. Why has the bank transfer method been withdrawn? I could send it now otherwise. Very happy to. Many people now dont accept cash, or prefer not to, and its a darn sight easier to just send it by bank transfer or via an app than to have to physically meet and hand over cash.
Discount in shop, cool. Discount on coaches that rarely run, cool. Discount on speed test equipment that I imagine has never been hired out to anyone in any volume, if at all, cool. Id rather pay full price at the bar to support the club, unless the money is going to someone outside the club?
As the benefits of WUSA appear to be fairly limited, I imagine that many join because of the information it affords them, and the ability for the WUSA position on the board of the club to be one of influence in improving things throughout the club from top to bottom. I cant wait to join in order I can gain the knowledge others already have.
And no, I wasnt referring to the recent use of money to Boost the Budget. I was not aware of this. As I am not a WUSA member I am not aware of where WUSA spends its money, but I hope to find out. Its great WUSA is supporting the budget, although concerning doing so less than 14 days in to the season.
My question was not money related. My question was what members and their votes/influence have had on recent club decisions. The question made no reference to finance at all. It was more a general case of, what realistically does the position WUSA have on the board have in relation to that director position being able to influence anything at all? There has been, and continues to be, a lot going on at the club that it would appear we could and should have an opinion and voting right on, and maybe dont? Maybe in time WUSA members will know more.
Ive £10 waiting, please let me know how best to get it to you, and what information you need for me to formally join. Perhaps you could send the form by post or email.
Thanks,

When was the WUSA position on the board put to a vote?
It's been matt for a long time, and maybe it's time for a change?
That's not to say anything personal, but just that it never seems to be transparent what's going on.
I think I have finally figured a way to email membership forms out. If anyone would like a form emailed to them just send me a PM via this forum with your name and email address. I will also be able to provide you with details of how to pay by bank transfer. This may take a little extra time in processing membership but I hope it helps supporters who are unable to attend PVR.
