What a disgusting, ignorant, patronising and contradictory statement from the management. I understand that sometimes things don't work out or they can't see them being able to turn things around - but to come out with that utter s#/÷ in the above Kent Online report boils my blood.
Hugo taking charge of training this morning apparently.
Club is a disgrace, Mark Goldberg YOU are a disgrace. I hope you never get any sort of planning permission and do not make a single penny out of OUR club, you do not deserve it. Sell it for a quid and f#ck off.
Is there any 'interim' announcement e.g. MG in charge? Or are we expecting the latest poor bastard to be announced to sleepwalk into this job? When I look at Facebook memories from the Steve King days - playing outstanding football with swagger and competing at the top of the league - it seems like a lifetime ago. I understand you have peaks and troughs in football but its a rare thing that sees you going from promotion candidates to 'saved from relegation by COVID' in a heartbeat.
We feel like the non league Newcastle United. Owned by someone who clearly can't/won't do anything to rescue us from our current predicament and will appoint a series of people to deflect the blame on a temporary basis.
I told everybody from Day One that this would end in disaster.
For once it wouldve been nice to be proven incorrect yet far from a facile I told you so it is going to end in a shambolic and chaotic mess with relegation to our lowest level of the football pyramid for decades.
An egotistical owner who almost managed to bring down a top flight club (and one he actually cared about) in charge of little old Welling (who despite claims to the contrary he doesnt give a toss about).
A man who offered Terry Venables the world because he didnt want people to think he couldnt afford him two decades later letting the brilliant Steve King go and appointing himself to save a few quid!! (Lets see how that one works out come Saturday)
You can chop and change managers, we can argue amongst ourselves but under MG the very heart and soul has been ripped out of the club, it doesnt feel like the Welling United Ive watched all over the country man & boy.
Under this guy nothing is going to change, I dont wanna hear the bull**** visions for the future, lies and nonsense.
Until he leaves nothing is going to improve, our club is being strangled and it has been for sometime.
Slow slow decline season upon season and the astonishing thing is that people are only just starting to speak out.
The clubs been run like an unregistered charity, begging bowl out for nothing in return and if a sale goes thru who will trouser the moneynot the fans, itll be the fans putting the the club back together from the bottom to the top.
Stop throwing money at him and letting him off his responsibilities, if he cant afford to carry on then leave, if he can afford to be chooses not to then leave.end of story.
Too many people at the club blindly give there time, their money and their love and it is being taken advantage of.
I see too many people stuck up MGs ass, not speaking out against him in case it affects their own standing at the club.
Its time we all as one stopped accepting what has happened and is happening at our club and as one demand change.
This club is dying on its ass, we are fairly becoming a laughing stock and until we remove the cancer eating away at the very core of the club then who knows the end could be terminal.

Find it hard to disagree with much of that, good post.
Ultimately, it is MG's money and no one can make him throw money at it as much as fans would like that as he perhaps tried when King was manager. However, what would have gone a long way was to try and run the club more apt to the level of football we play at and in respect of the club's history. Not keep making the ludicrous decisions to train once a week, get all the old boys from Bromley in, poor commercial activity, playing carrot and stick with ground development etc.
Though Im not calling for him to throw money at it nor do I expect that.
A sensible level of investment though or an investment to enable the club to be competitive and/or sustainable is as far as Im concerned a prerequisite of any owner and the fact of the matter is our budget is that of a Kent League side, it cantt and wont keep us in the division and that is utterly unacceptable as are the many other things you or I have pointed out.

This is a good point as there seems to be no investment now and that is worrying. If the ground plans are still not approved then I can't see any in the future. I don't expect MG to throw money at it either but you would want some sort of plan to keep our budget competitive in this league.
Hopefully the meeting next week might shed some light on the whole situation as the lack of communications has been terrible.
