This is a massive shame. At one time there was three websites to my knowledge where wings fans had message board facilities. Now we are left with something that is round the houses and I have to say this, JGFC I think you have added value to the board with your thoughts and opinions on many occassions. You have also acknowledged that you have gone OTT on occassions and I feel your message on the front page is one of them. Sure I can understand why your upset, but posting what you have shows me that not only have you thrown the towel in but you have lost the battle. Was it necessary to post the statement and abusive language?-surely a simpler " not available" or something like that would have helped?
This has only gone to drag the club down further when I honestly thought that this season we had made progress on the pitch, have an excellent manager and the club was moving in the right direction.
The way forward, to be honest I dont know. I will continue to post because like Bruno I consider myself to be able to form my own opinions and want to read other peoples. So maybe let all sensible people who want to talk about WUFC and football matters post and all others take your views somewhere else.
I dont even feel that it is worth someone setting up an alternative because I'm sure that all the bile would just be transferred there.
Its a shame that the players will no doubt see this mess that we are in when with unity on the pitch we cant even muster one voice in the right direction.
BKK, agree in part but the website wars/factions are being continued by certain people, and the weekend s events made me certaain i had done the right thing. This forum i believe now has no ties to any site or association and WOTW is gone (but intact should TG decide he wants to relaunch it). Unlike TG i never walked away under the abuse. TG was target number 1 i became target number 2. Frankly i am utterly disgusted that people did not come to TGs aid when people started abusing him and spreading rumours to fulfil their agendas.
Radio Wings is technically possible but im sure some people do not want it to happen and others would try to close it.
Bullying and abuse is still ripe and i decided i had had enough of being made the problem and enough o certain people throwing their toys out the pram and throwing their weight about.
In Bruno i believe we have someone that has never taken sides, criticises when its warranted and is level headed.
I hope that certain people do not give him grief now. Agendas continue to come to the fore and its all rather silly. I stand by what is said on the sites main page and its all still going on. Certain people have agendas and egos to boost. Its nothing short of abuse and bullying. This time it wasnt aimed directly at me but it ws the straw that broke the camels back.

We can all keep posting messages about website wars, why is this never used, egos, agendas but it will never go away unless these people all meet and agree to end it. An online forum is never going to end a squabble like this.
As much as I hate to say it this forum will never be used by all the regulars.
This forum will be used only by BKK, Bruno, JGFC and some unknown members. It's a real shame but it will never be used, and won't be as popular as some of the past forums.
I beleieve that JGFC has offered the olive branch so to speak in the past and it has been refused, so fair play to the bloke. At one time this forum had a substantial amount of traffic. The question remains as to why some of the previous regulars do not post on here. Maybe with JGFC moving on now is the time for some people to return.Maybe they are happy not to post anymore and would wish to keep opinions to themselves
We have heard JGFC's side of events and there is two sides to every story. I dont wish to know why, but maybe its time to let the past go-how long does this go on for? Will it be the same in one year/five years time?
Some good points BKK but was this olive branch just a message on this forum? Would it not be better to try and contact the people directly, or meet at a game?
It is a shame but I still believe people will never post on here because of its past connections with JGFC, and it seems very few people support him, in comparison to the people that refuse to post on here, because we know there a lot more people that could post.
I too wish it would end, but from what I can see it never will.
The original forum was WOTW, Abuse started , the forum closed on WOTW then surprise WIE opened a forum, then that closed and WOTW returned? Then that got more abusive posts and James opened one. The WOTW forum was the only forum until the trouble started other forums have come and gone but trouble remains and this has driven many people away.
Other clubs have had similar problems and if you look have hardly anyone posting. It is a shame.
Thats it mate, you have a go at jgfc too, if you aren't one of the people who refuse to post or connected with them, how on earth can you be so informed as to who is to blame?
Opinions and attitudes and the constant second hand gossip of past legends is what has stopped the forum(s) from being a platform for all Welling Fans. To be devils advocate, why should jgfc offer to meet personally? What have these people done to try and make the situation better ever? I agree he can be a mouthy so and so and does go to far but to apportion all blame and continue to be bkinkered is fool hardy and solves nothing. I do not know why the forum in no longer a Wings on the Web forum, something has clearly happened. Maybe Bruno could enlighten us?
I fear we can either go on regurgitating the same ancient history or we can ALL move on. Personally I am of the latter persuasion and from now on will only refer to them if I feel clarification is required. Hopefully in time, and the sooner the better from my point of view, we can consign all talk of website(forum) wars to history where they belong.
Maybe its a case of rose coloured spectacles but I believe there is a demand for an independent forum on which Welling United supporters can participate in an exchange of views, circulating news, and general banter. However, if supporters take the negative attitude that 'others aren't posting so I won't' of course the forum will not flourish.
I know from discissions with Graham that the Club have reservations about forums such as this but provided any debate remains reasoned (which doesn't per se preclude it from being critical) I see no reason for them to have any concerns. There are plenty of independent forums which happily co-exist with official sites and indeed many official sites recognise this with links to independent forums.
I am optimistic that I will not end up talking to myself but if I do then the forum will close. Its up to you fellow supporters out there which way it goes.

Wings on the Web branding is owned by JGFC/TG I'm not quite sure which. The decision to remove the branding was one taken by JGFC in the hope that the forum stood more chance of surviving without it and its historical associations if I took it over and at the time it was a big if. I have taken stock of the situation and determined that it would be a great shame to see the forum, which over the last year has been very popular in terms of viewing though limited in active participation, go the way of other forums where supporters could air their views. Ultimately the name of the forum is of little consequence what matters is that the forum is independent and provides a platform for reasoned debate, news, and general banter.

VFTS, I wasn't having a go at JGFC but in fact stating what has already been mentioned that people are not posting because of its connections with JGFC.
Bruno, I'm sure we shall see through time whether people decide to post though I don't hold up much hope.
The only way forward is by putting this in the past, like Bruno has stated maybe some form of independent forum will happy both corners?
You seem to be very anti jgfc or this website. I dont know who is to blame or what its all about but i have seen lots of mud slinging in all directions. Maybe it is all jgfcs fault and people like you have "heard" the truth. Maybe though , throw enough mud and some will stick. I certainly do not know how i would react if i was the subject of abuse all the time from people who hide behind anonymity. Perhaps i might have a go back. Would that make you or i to blame?
People really need to drop this. I used to post on the original forum, which although basic was well frequented. The reason i havent posted on here is not because of who has provided the facilty, merely that the arguing from all parties got tiresome. Whos to say if another group opened a forum that people would throw mud??
Its either everyone together - Independently (as Bruno has suggested) or factions will remain.
I am not English and have had a season ticket for over 10 years, therefore the club know of me. I can also state that i have heard TG and jgfc being slagged off by well known supporters and club staff and more than once. Could YOU Dave please tell me when you have seen jgfc or TG slag people off behind their back anonymously?
The legends and hearsay are destroying our club, along with anonymous abuse and then jgfc letting rip back at them. Perhaps a meeting is required to try and get everyone pulling together.
The Dave D that has posted above was not posted by me, i have kept out of the website wars and believe these postings above were done to cause trouble. Bruno would you please make it not possible to post until you register, to keep these anons away..
Whilst it would be possible to have a registration only site it can prove a deterent to people actually contributing. Putting as many obstacles in the way of those wanting to post may well be part of the strategy of the few who for whatever reason seem to want the forum to close. I would prefer all users to register for obvious reasons but I would only make registration compulsory as a last ditch effort to save the forum if this became necessary.
I appreciate that someone using an already registered identity is a problem but it could be a genuine identity and I would ask you to bear with things for the moment. Regular contributors would I am sure be able to detect that a posting from an unregistered user but signed with a registered ID was iffy, especially if the tenor of the posting was out of character as in the case of the postings you refer to.
I accept that anonymous postings provide that degree of anonymity needed by the small number of posters of messages, which I would regard as having a degree of malice in them, before they make their comments but making a contibution without having to register can also be the first step in becoming a regular registered contibutor.

In making this site unregistered you are laying yourself open to the same strife that has befallen the likes of the Conference South board in the past
I have no idea of your technical competence in matters computing but if you are relying on people's good sense to moderate what they put, think again. Rules are only as good as your enforcement against transgressors and, believe me, the are bloody difficult to enforce on an unregulated forum.
The company I work for has an Intranet site which has a forum to air views, grievances etc. If you post something on it the posting is vetted first before being allowed on the site.
I know the vetting creates work for someone but it could be the only way to get rid of the foul and abusive postings of the past.
Personally I would like to thank all that have been involved in keeping the forum going and hope it continues.
