Just can't get out of this bad run. Relegation looking a certainty. Lose to Billericay and that's the last nail in the coffin. So depressing.

Pile of $hit. Could have gone for another 90 mins and not scored a goal.
How much does Goldberg want this?
Perhaps Taylor would like to applaud away support?

I did nt go to the game today but I cant see why Taylor is sticking to this formation. Barnes is not a right winger and I'm not sure what Stevenson is. Go back to 532 with Statham at right centre back and Barnes and Ezi as the wing backs with someone up top with Dipo.

First half we didn't look too bad. Penalty was bit fortuitous in my opinion but the two goals conceded were poor. The first the Slough player should have been challenged by 3 people before he scored, and a slip from Penny gave away a corner which led to the penalty.

Second half we didn't turn up. Very poor, lack of effort from some and apart from a shot that hit the bar and went over, the Slough keeper had sod all to do.

Play like we did today for the next 10 weeks and we are down. Something has to change quickly, ideally at least 3-4 players.

Just a poor game of football in general, no real direction or leadership throughout.
Actually found it amusing that we couldn't even work out that a long throw into a strong wind would not work, or trying to play high crosses.
Brad Stevenson needs to leave ASAP, absolutely useless, his dad will tell you otherwise (fair enough) but just go fella, clearly don't wanna be here.
As has been said, unless something changes we really are in the sh*t now.

The game..
Very disappointing and we now find ourselves in serious trouble. A well taken Dippo penalty but unfortunately we let them back into it, in the first half we must have broke away on the counter five times and always the final ball is either to long or played to soft so the player has to check his run. Brad Stevenson had a great chance to score but at the final moment the defence managed to clear it literally on the line. I was surprised at both sides who despite the strong wind was just content to just keep punting it in the air. Thier penalty shout was probably right but the player went down like he'd been shot. Second half and we just seemed to run out of ideas, Dippo had a shot from the outside of his foot go wide ,he even said to me after he thought it was going in. A Danny Parish shot that clipped the bar but apart from that we didn't create anything. So another defeat and Braintree winning means we sit second from bottom and it looks like the trap door is opening, we are going to need a big following at Billericay as that game is massive.!!!
The experience
I dont like Arbour Park and according to some Slough supporters and matchday staff that I spoke to neither do they, because the ground is owned by the council and is constantly used during the week every trace of Slough Town has to be removed after every game. It's just as if the club "hire it out for the day" and thats evident with the way its all presented on a matchday. The cramped press box Mark Doig and myself had to go to is for some reason on the other side of the pitch opposite the main stand with WIFI that the council refuse anyone to use. Yes I know PVR needs work on it but at least it has character, the fans I spoke to told me that the old ground just up the road is pretty much still standing and there's always a hope that a wealthy benefactor or consortium may come in and take the club back there

We can only hope of facilities like slough have, spotless toilets and running hot water. As for the team you get what you pay for, Im surprised backpost hasnt come on here recently telling us Goldberg is doing a great job.

I reckon we are doomed. I cannot see us picking up enough points in the remaining fixtures to get us out of this black hole. Still have to play Dorking, Ebbsfleet, Maidstone. Lets face it any team in this league can and probably will beat us. Lose at Billericcay and that will be it.

Four wins and two draws I think will keep us up. We have the games to do it. I dont think Billericay will go down so I doubt that is the make or break it might appear to be.

I don't won't us to go down, and I don't think we will, but just out of curiosity when was the last time Welling played at the Isthmian League level?

When first relegated from the Conference there was no North/South division so we dropped back into the Southern League at end of the 1999/2000 season.  We then spent 4 years there until the re-organisation at the end of the 2003/2004 season, when we entered the National League South.

We have never competed in the Isthmian League, having been in the Southern League prior to our first promotion into the Conference.

The last time we were outside the top two levels of non League football was the 1980-81 season when we were in the Athenian League. The first year that we were in the Southern League 1981-82 there was no Premier Division. Just a Southern Division and a Midland Division. I think the winners of each division had a play off to get in to the Alliance.

Hello there CJ! ..... Yup! we will be ok. Billericay won't send us down. We'll pick up a few points here or there and they'll be enough. With one down, and all the clubs on a budget, the usual rules don't apply this year.  No one is going to buy the club with all the costs associated, so time to get used to the current set up for another few years. Who knows, maybe the ground redevelopment could happen? The council MUST be in need of the money?
