Good luck to Warren in what will be a difficult job.
Is a total surprise appointment, I wonder if anyone at the club has links to him?

Please lets get the basics right, we have let in so many soft goals.

Good luck to the new manager, looks an interesting appointment.

We need two experienced centre halves (priority), left back, centre midfielder, left midfielder and goal poacher.

And the rest of the players need a kick up the arse, they've got too casual with draws seen as acceptable.

Keep us up this season and push for the play off next year.

COYW!

Not too sure how many players he'll be bringing with him. Managed OFC Pirin Blagoevgrad, 100km south of Sofia up until a few games ago.  He got them promoted to the Bulgarian First Division last Season

I suppose it will be working with the new, recently signed players and trying to improve the current players/tactics. Before anyone says we cant improve what we have you only have to look at Taylors first 10 games - I think we won 4, drew 1 and lost 5, and thats with most of the current team, arguably a weaker back then as well as Dipo has got fitter since, Tommy Davis in etc. Our last 10, we have won just 1 game. Tactics, game plan, game management, correct subs, will all go a long way over the next three games.
As long as we dont go launching aimless long balls like Saturday we might have a chance Tuesday night.

He will probably meet the players about two hours before kickoff on Tuesday. So how will he pick a team when he doesnt even know who they are or what position they play. How will he dictate what tactics to employ when he doesnt know his players or anything about the opposition. The only way we will see a improvement is if the players put in extra effort to impress him. I really do hope it works out but unless we get a minor miracle it is still gonna be touch and go to avoid relegation. If Billericays results better ours over 10 games we will be in the M25 league next season.

Wont take 2 minutes to say dont go launching long balls!

In all seriousness he wont be able to do much tomorrow but hopefully players will up their game. He wont be coming in totally blind either as must have some intel. Even if he plays the new signings that will be a start.

We can still catch Bath. There is not much to them apart from cheating.

Last time he played for us he scored a few goals, but that was about 6 years ago.

I doubt it, he broke his leg in October and was likely to be out for the season.

Good stuff Nigel! be interesting to see our team Saturday

Would have been nice to see this game discounted to get the fans in and behind the new manager. £5 for everyone and kids free.

I hope the first thing he worked on in training is their bloody awful kick offs. If I see another kick off booted out for a throw I am going to cry

Exactly. Especially when you see Ebbsfleet at the weekend scoring in 17 seconds of the 2nd half just from passing it about.

This came up at a meet the manager event a few years back, I don't know if it was under Daisy or someone else, but the idea was to try and pin the opponent in their box straight from the kick off....

Gotcha, if I am honest I only really noticed it when Taylor was in charge. I am no football manager so if thats the way the game is played then so be it. But i have been to many home and away games this season and I dont think I have seen a single other club do the same from kick off. Its almost like they are scared to have the ball

Always has been to be punt it in the corner to put pressure on the fullback and out for a throw or a corner, almost every team done it at one point. But I agree that now rules have changed regarding kick off we should be looking to retain the ball, as many other teams have adopted.

It's a bit like what they do in egg chasing and American football (where the ball hardly ever goes to foot) in which they kick for 'good field position'. It's outdated and I have never really seen it as a good tactic.

Surely the problem is that we have simply taken far too many kick offs this season.

Hopefully just the one today.
