With the advent of new Directors/ new money, and with the Club possibly not being in the hands of Mark Goldberg any more, I should have thought that the Kent Cup semi against those down the road highlights the need for a structured relationship between the Academy and the 'Club'. This has been missing for too long now and talent just seems to up sticks and go. I do hope that those who now hold the power and the purse strings, will look at things differently, put differences aside (if there are any) and recreate a pathway which will allow talent which could be seen on Tues to blossom into the first team squad. Having said all this, it may be that because there were four on the pitch wearing a Welling shirt, things are moving in the right direction. Prehaps they were there by necessity but they certainly proved a point.

In three words I can sum up everything i've learnt in life; it goes on.
Talking to someone earlier today who is pretty sure the academy site at Footscray Road has benefitted from the demise of Greenwich Borough FC.
He mentions that the academy inherited assets/money to the value of £1.3 million.
I do doubt comments of this nature, but question the name GB10 for Mr Fiores business.
The GB being Greenwich Borough, and Greenwich being SE10.
Who knows? But makes an interesting bit of gossip.

Interesting theory but my X files is GB for Garry and Brett the directors. Person I talk to whos granddaughter plays for one of the youth teams tells me next season they will be known as Greenwich Borough but time will tell.
