Seen as though it seems there will be many comings and goings I thought would be a idea to have them in one place.
First to announce something is Bradley Pearce, he will be leaving us. Although slightly technically lacking I cannot fault his effort, seems like a nice lad too and I wish him well in the future.
May get this a lot this week and hopefully a sign that we're gonna get stuff done early rather than pre season with a load of triallists.
Rob Howard - 22 year old RB formerly of Southend. Had a loan spell at Kings Lynn and also played a few games for Dartford and Braintree a few seasons ago.
Dipo - gone to Aye United in the Scottish Championship. Sad to see him go but I think we'd all agree he deserves his chance at a higher level. Thanks for all your efforts dipo, good luck.
I wish Bradley Pearce all the best in his future career, wherever that takes him. A decent bloke and I thought he was very good at organising the defence. Who can forget his thunderous goal away at Herne Bay in the Kent Senior Cup
So...by early June we already have a starting 11 (if we assume Bradbury has been retained, and some play out of position to cover midfield). Unbelievable effort so far, great communication on socials and all very exciting!
Solid signing he also played for Dulwich I think for 5 games last season and scored 1 goal, but the team is looking brilliant, and now cant wait for the season to start.
Southend fan here. I see you have signed Rob Howard who was our backup right back for parts of last season. I will include a paragraph of what I wrote about him on Southend forum shrimperzone when he was released by us.
-"I was speaking to Rob Howard in the center circle lounge when we played Woking. He was telling us how he was gutted to have been dropped again. He made 1 league appearance against Dover and was explaining how he played well and the following day went to the analytics guy at the club to find out how he did. He had made the most amount of successful tackles and interceptions, also was third on pass completion.
2/3 weeks later we had signed Leon Davies and Rob's place was gone. For the record, I am not throwing shade/shots at Kev&co. Because they wanted a more up and down attacking right back for their system.
But it just goes to show that the binary "hes good enough" and "he's not good enough" are too simplistic. Rob statistically had done nothing wrong, but of course he just wasn't the managers flavour. That's what I meant by 'distorted meritocracy' sometimes players are good enough by just doing their job and being a cog in the wheel."-
You could say he was pretty darn unlucky to not have more of a chance with us. High change over of managers and covid disruption were of no help. But all in all this is a good move for him. He is more of a 'traditional' full back, loves defending and getting stuck in, got that passion merchant gene with a pretty decent footballing IQ (Spent time with Arsenal as a youth)
Plus linked back up with Craig Fagan (Our old u23s gaffer and assistant coach) who I believe is now assistant at Park View Road?
Thank you for your words as didn't really know anything about him.
Sounds like the type of defender we need to be honest. I would also imagine based on that we are going to play a back 3 with wingbacks this year and that he will play on the right side of the 3. Best of luck for the new season.
The curse of POTY stricks again, not only the winner this year but also the runner up both gone.
How many times in the last 10 years has the POTY left for pastures new?
The last one I can remember staying was Barney Williams who won it again the next season and was then released by MG

Wonder if signings will slow until nearer the start of season to allow for trailists , other deals to happen or break down etc.
Some players are on contract with their current club until 30th June. If club were to announce players before this their current club could easily offer a contract and we would end up paying a transfer fee.
