Firstly, well done to the club on this and although i would rather have quality than quantity, it could well lead to re establishing the Club's once unrivalled youth set up. I note that coaches are available and ALL registered youth players will get a pass for Conference South Games... Excellent!!
I hope the "elite" Youth teams 16s-18s will get the better coaching and more resources and as the colts rise through the system , quality will out and receive nurturing. I also hope we retain this years under 16s. Unlike the last lot who ended up at Sevenoaks these lads have performed and had a great season.
Well done on the Club for expanding the youth section, i dont know how good kingsmoor are? If they are one of the better clubs in the area then great. I hope the club run this in a hands on way rather than just lend the clubs name.
Good Luck to Liz ,(i hope we are keeping the Managers of this years under 16s they have done an immense job)
From the official site...
Welling United Youth Welling United FC and Kingsmoor JFC have joined forces to create Welling United Youth.
The official launch will take place on 6th May 2006 at the Park View Road stadium in Welling. This initiative, along with Welling’s appointment of a community officer, will ensure that local youngsters have the opportunity to play football within their local community, for their local team.
Currently we have 12 teams representing the club, with ages ranging from u7’s through to u18’s. It is our intention to provide football for all ability ranges for both boys and girls.
Welling Utd offer their full support to this venture, ensuring community football at grass roots level. All registered players will receive a free pass to home Conference League games. Fully qualified FA coaches available at all levels.
A page on the official website with more details on the Youth Teams will be available soon.
If you are a player interested in participating in this new and exciting opportunity please contact Liz on 07956 115046

I too welcome the creation of Welling United Youth and am awaiting information on how this affects this year's Kent League Under 16 side. I'm hoping that this year's Under 16's will be allowed to carry on in the Kent League as Under 18's - they certainly deserve to do so.
I believe that the free pass to Conference Home matches for all registered players is an excellent move on the Club's part as I'm sure a percentage of the lads will in time become part of the PVR faithful.
I don't think Kingsmoor was a charter club but with the formation of Welling United Youth I would imagine that they will be seeking Charter Standard Community Club status.
I read the situation as that the Community Officer will be responsible for the hands on stuff.
A bit of information on Kingsmoor: Kingsmoor JFC was founded in 1994 by former managers of Teviot Rangers JFC. Their ground is Swingate Lane Playing Fields, Camdale Road, Plumstead, London, SE18 and they compete are in the Bexley League. This season they ran an Under 10 mini soccer side (D div), and 11 a side teams at U12 (D div), U14 (C div), U15 (B div), U16 (B div), and U17 (B div).
I wish all involved every success.

I have been in contact with Ken Brooke and can confirm that he has had a meeting with Barrie Hobbins to discuss this season and what options are available for next season.
Barrie was very complimentary about the team and their disciplinary record saying that they had given the club no cause for concern through the season. He also said that he is happy for the side to continue as Under 18’s in the Kent League next season and the application has been submitted.
The team will have to fund themselves again. There are no plans for any youth side playing under the Welling name to be funded by the club, as it is the clubs intention to put every last penny into paying for the first team squad.

Please excuse my ignorance but if they were playing as under 16s this season would they not be playing as under 17s next, or does the Kent League not have under 17s?
Fund themselves? Thats a joke surely, how can they be Welling United teams if they fund themselves. So just Welling United in name and done half hearted. No wonder the U18s ahave been poor but U16s have done well.
I dont see a point in having a youth set up in name only. If the club are not going to fund it and build it then there is surely no point.
What next, we will have a reserve team but they wont be run by the club or play in Welling.
I was at PVR today for the launch, and can confirm that Kingsmoor (Now WUFC Youth) have a number of quality players in a number of age sections. What they have achieved is great. Some of the kids have fantastic ability. I was doing the photo's for the local rags and the best ones will be on my site soon. I also like the idea of a free game pass, because as I understand it they have to be bought by a paying adult.
I was speaking to one of the coaches who hopes some of the older kids will be knocking on Aide's first team door in a couple of years.
Yes, when I was speaking to the coach, he said the pass was granted on the condition that the youth player was accompanied by a paying adult. The ploy here is the lad (or Girl) will badger his parents into taking them along, thus getting one more paying punter in the ground and hopefully the kid will become a paying fan or even a player in the future.
