I have a sneaky feeling we are going to win this game 2 - 0. They have a striker Ollie Pearce who was the leading striker in their Division will 35 goals so interesting to see him in action. Last week our team had lots of last minute signings, and we still kept a clean sheet, so I think with the benefit of that match behind us, and more time in the last week to settle in the latest signings, we have a really good chance tomorrow.

So many teams will have rebuilt over the summer it is impossible yet to work out who is good and bad in our division, and it will take 6 or 7 games before results make that clearer. But a clean sheet and a point away from home was a great start, so here's to our first win of the season!

Watched their highlights today from last weekend's game against Dover, they looked good especially on the break. We will have to be ready from the off

The style of football we attempted to play was terrible at times, every time we had the ball out wide both centre mids are on the edge of the box and offering absolutely nothing but the cross, then when it gets headed away their centre mids picking the ball up in 10yards of space. Just basic stuff we couldn't do right and that's before starting the defending.

Disappointing but dont underestimate Worthing, chatting to their supporters, they were 11 points clear at the top of their table before covid.

They won their league without too much troubl last season.

They have kept their winning team intact

So a challenge for anyone.

But we did look good going forward, defensively disappointing, but we did score.

so not a disaste, just disappointing and a wake up call that this season isnt going to be any easier than last

Defensively poor, centre half playing at left back, goalkeeper signed just before the opening game of the season instead of having pre-season to work with the defense.

Credit Worthing, worthy winners and will be up there come April. But we looked a team that had never met before, 5 changes from last Saturday, suggests the manager does not know his best 11. He will no doubt argue back its a squad game blah, blah. But we had not style of play, no leaders, no nouse about us. A team of 11 comfortably beat 11 strangers with no ideas.

I did fear that in pre season we was never really tested in our games now we are being tested and today we failed. Must do better Tuesday. Hope the fan that went down in 2nd half is better.

Need a huge huge reaction on Tuesday. I didnt like some of the abuse levelled at certain players today. There really isnt a need to scapegoat certain players. Please dont spoil the feel good factor by alienating the squad. We need to stick together.

Well....thoughts...Upfront undoubtedly we will score goals...2 today plus hit the bar twice....defence after saying how good we were last week we looked totally disjointed...our left back was on the rack nearly all game

Yes it is very early days and we will get better

Not time to panic but 3 points Tuesday would be nice

We had a very good pre-season, winning most of our games. Since then we have signed several new players very late on, so Warren will still be finding out where players play best, and what his strongest team is, and that will take six or seven league games to work out. Scoring two and hitting the woodwork twice is very pleasing. The goals conceded were due to Stefan Payne conceding an unnecessary free kick (cutting out silly free kicks is something Warren stopped last season, and I am sure he will teach the new players not to do that too) and a weak performance by a new player in defence. The good news is we can cut out the bad things about today's game, but the good things are already in place, as we have a range of players who look likely to score, so last week didn't score, today could easily have had four. Great attendance of 819.

Well that was disappointing. After all the hype and expectations a season 21/22 performance. Worthing were the better side, quicker to the ball their passes were crisp and direct whilst ours were ponderous and lacking in direction. If that is the defence for the season we are in trouble. Azeez apart, who is a goal threat, we produced little up front. New signings appeared ordinary and IMO there is much to do. It was an exceedingly hot day (for both sides) and everyone is entitled to a off day, so let's see what happens on Tues night. Good strides off the pitch but the Charlton supporter who left at the same time as me said he enjoyed it, but he won't be coming back. Which is the Last thing we want to hear. Big response required on Tues.

Spot on. It was so obvious how much space their midfield had all game. Time to turn a pick a pass. Too easy for them. Their 4 ran the show from start to finish. We let him have all the space he wanted.

Re: medical issue. Guy collapsed on the terraces beside me. In a break in play got the ref's attention, reason for the stoppage in play. Ambulance arrived after around 20 mins. Just assuming the person was OK

On Twitter, there's a message from the Daughter in Law of the man who was taken ill. Thankfully he is doing OK. Credit to the fans who alerted the players to the emergency, and the medical staff who treated him.

Folks, I think we need to be realistic over the next 4 or 5 games. We have a squad of 24 players, many very recent arrivals, so it will take a few matches for the manager to get a clear idea of our best starting 11.

He is in a damned if you do, damned if you dont situation, as he could have stuck with the team that got the pleasing 0 - 0 away draw last week, but then that may have meant he wasn't playing players who may have been better than last week's team. Or then again, they may have changed and turned out not as good as last week's team.

But the key is having a look at the players to quickly find our best formation, which will take a few more games. We have to remember that most players today were playing their first or second league game for us, and several joined in the last week.

I think the season breaks down into two parts:

the first will be experimental, and we will inevitably lose some matches like today just because we are still finding out who our best team is, and what our best formation is.

Then the second part will be where we put the lessons learned into practice.

Today we scored two, hit the crossbar twice, so were fine in attack, and learned a lot about our new defenders, and I hope those lessons learned show in Tuesday's game. And when we play Taunton and Worthing again later on this season we will have a fixed starting team and I expect much better outcomes. There were some excellent individual performances from us today, our keeper looked fine, Rob Howard and Ade were bossing their areas, the key is making sure we have everyone playing to that high standard. I expect really good things from Rob Strachan and Antony Papadopoulos as the season goes on, so lots to look forward to.

First of all I hope the person who collapsed is doing ok and well done to those who went to help. On that the St Johns Ambulance people are volunteers and they dont deserve the criticism that was thrown their way from behind the goal for not running quickly enough across the pitch.

On the field we were a complete shambles. Dickens has never played left back before and it showed, to play him there with Eze on the bench is just baffling. Our midfield had no shape. The only positives for me where the performances of Payne, Azeez and Hyde.

Off the field was also disappointing. I got to the downstairs bar at 2:45 and the que was out of the door. I tried to go upstairs but was told it was an executive list only. After 10 minutes of queing and still nowhere near the bar I gave up. Really bad that the club couldn't do better either by allowing access upstairs or opening the E&B bar. Even when they start serving in the marquee I dont think it will meet demand. The case for opening the E&B bar is made even stronger when you consider supporters like me who would normally stand at the Park End and walk behind our stand to the bar now need to walk all the way around the ground from the corner of the E&B side. On the plus side the new Burger was good although the service was quite slow and in all honesty one outlet is not enough.  The marquee was nice but we'll see how it goes when they start serving drinks. But overall the matchday experience was poor and needs to be drastically improved if we are to increase the attendances to 1,000 plus which we need for a team to stay competitive at this level. Hopefully the Park End terrace can be flattened as soon as possible with a small temporary metal terrace installed.

Got served with a beer at the outside tables....fantastic service to be honest

The bar will open in the marquee once licence is sorted (they said 10 days)...that will help too plus an app to pre order a beer for half time

Give it a bit of time Chris it will be far better soon

I would have had 2 or 3 areas selling water yesterday but minor point

We stopped coming after the way Steve King was treated so yesterday was first time weve been back and have to say the doom and gloom seems to have gone from the place. Lovely food , fantastic marquee, friendly bar staff and really enjoyed the day.Worthing were a good side , but we showed promise in patches and 3/3 would not of been a injustice. There a few negatives like the que for the bar before match and the lack of singing, but all in all , it looks a real family club , we will be back

I think the reaction to the defeat has been a little OTT to be honest.

First and foremost congrats to Worthing who were a good side and played as a unit against a team of individuals who need time to gel together. I think they will be in and around the play offs at the end of the season.

Didn't understand some of the decisions including a centre back at left back and four central midfielders in the starting XI but we will get the right formation and/or personnel worked out after a few more games under our belt.

Keep the faith people, get along Tuesday and support the team and hopefully we will be three points better off come 10 o'clock on Tuesday night.

Up the Wings!
