Really enjoyable game. A win, draw and loss and 4 points out of a possible 9 is a fine start to the season bearing in mind for the second game in a row none of the starters were with us last season so this has been a total rebuild in a very short time. I can't wait to see that second goal again on YouTube, the quality of the play on the wing, and then the finish, was fantastic. The defence definitely learned lessons from the indecisive defending on Saturday, and totally got that right today. It was great to see Warren and the team deservedly clapped and cheered as they walked down the tunnel after the match, and for us to get that all important confidence giving first win under our belt. Last season we started our first three games scored 1, conceded 12, so love our strong start this season, midtable and just a point off a play off spot.
I thought it was winning ugly, which is no bad thing. To be fair it didnt matter how we got the first three points as long as we did. You would like to think there is so much more to come from the side as well which is a positive.

Agreed. It was disjointed for periods but when they do find rhythm we either score or look close to netting.
Great result. After a nervous start the goals were both excellent and we started to play some nice stuff at times and dug in really well when we needed to.
Payne might not have scored yet but his experience and presence on the pitch is excellent, constantly winding up opponents and the sort of edge we have missed for a long time, it gets the fans and the rest of the team going. His control of the ball is decent too and trying to bring others into play. I'm convinced their player didn't touch him in the sending off which again down to experience but maybe the highlights will show differently.
Off the pitch, great to have the beer pumps in the tent which improved service a lot, good attendance for a Tuesday night and I thought was nice to hear/see a couple of chants come from somewhere else behind the goal, showing that the youngsters in attendance were enjoying themselves.
Probably my last game for a while as I have a boy due in the coming weeks so all I'll say is hopefully last night kick starts us in the league and I hope you all enjoy it.
