What an absolute joke - sorry but this dreadful run of form has got to have its consequences surely? It seems a lifetime ago since the away game at Eastbourne where we held on for a 1-0 win and had hope of the playoffs. 13th September, since when we've won one league game (1-0 with a pen at home to Hungerford).

Unless someone is going to tell me differently today, the football is terrible to watch and its no longer winning football either. Five red cards in the last seven league games too - a reflection of the manager I'm afraid

Surely the owners can't be happy with 13th with the wages being paid

People slated King as a money manager, but he wasn't spending what is being spent now and we finished 3rd (behind two clubs with pro set ups)

Thats totally unacceptable. Useless. No style of play. No energy. Outplayed all over the park. WTF are we doing training 3 days a week to produce **** like that. Embarrassing crap. Im sick of it. No excuses for that. Another Red card. Waste of money paying to watch that. Ive had enough. Feeney needs to go.

Well Feeney certainly heard the chants at the end of todays game.
If Cameron Andrews wasnt injured today, then for the life of me I cannot understand how Papadoolus was brought on instead of him

Agree with most of this. Too many not good enough. Glad Dunne was taken off he was terrible today, and I don't feel good enough in many recent games.

You can't blame today's red on the ethos of the manager, I can't see how that won't be overturned as he played the ball first.

Regarding money managers, is there any evidence of us spending more now? Genuine question, I hear it a lot but haven't ever heard any proof.

Only going on what people close to the running of the club tell me - the wages spend has never been higher according to them

Today?s score predictor winner is a Mr Warren Feeney - he had this game written off in this week?s interview.

Why do we seem to raise ourselves for big games (Ebbsfleet, Havant) but have difficulty with the others? We were second to nearly everything today.

A winning goal 30 seconds after a Welling corner.

We have clear trouble holding on to and advancing leads.

its just not good enough.

The whole experience going to PVR right now is woeful. The football is absolutely dreadful, there is no excuse for today although I'm sure a few will come out.
Feeney should of gone after the Dartford game, the meet the manager night saved his job.
Then the catering is just as bad, 30 minute wait for a cheese burger that costs £6.50, hearing endless people saying I'm never doing this again and you don't even get what you've paid for.
All this work in the community is absolutely wasted by giving back a day out like that.
I could go on but it just about sums it up.

Does anyone on this forum genuinely believe that Feeney is still the right man for the job? Would love to hear the case for him if that is the case.

Another post match video of Feeney having a go at the fans who expect too much. I have always defended Feeney but another dreadful game of football, so boring to watch and to think I was going to travel nearly 7 hours round trip to go to Bath. Think I might just have a *****g bath and stay at home

I can't understand how Feeney is still in a job. People say that he wasn't the one who recruited these players, but he absolutely isn't getting the best put of what he's got. I'm 'fortunate' enough to view the games from near our dug-out and it's very rare that anything constructive comes out of Feeney's mouth; he just stands there spitting, swearing and constantly laying into players. That's not to say he should never lay into players, but a bit of balance and some helpful words might serve us better, particularly as a number of our players looked scared and completely lacking in confidence. Holloway and Cox offer much more from the bench in terms of conveying instructions and tactical changes to players.

I honestly don't know what formation we were playing today as we seemed to have holes all over the pitch. The central midfielders were particularly poor today (although you could say that of most of our team). Feeney was slow to act to make substitutions; as well as being poor, both central midfielders got booked and had to tread carefully; Dunne should have been subbed off much earlier, illustrated by their second goal when he should have made the foul to stop the ball into the middle, but didn't because he obviously feared getting the second yellow (it also didn't help that we had no defenders in the middle when the ball did come in).

I also don't know what Cameron Andrews has to do to start a game. He looks far better than what we've had out there the last few games.

The sending off was unfortunate. I didn't think it was a foul, but once the foul was given a red card was always likely. The keeper should never have come for that ball, but I'd imagine he didn't trust the defence to deal with it.

Weymouth deserved their win today.

Awful today apart from the first 20 minutes. Second to most things through a lack of desire and work rate. How the player wasn't taken out for the winner is a disgrace.

What a difference from last week, no pressing, lack of workrate etc

You could almost play Feeney bingo at this point. "Look where we were last year" "Part of the project" its very different to last year, with a very different squad, full of "better" players and a much higher budget.

I would like to know if the board would be happy with a mid table finish that Warren states on the money we are allegedly spending, half of that should easily achieve a mid table finish. The players should be better than that and we should have competed better this season.

I am not one for constantly chopping and changing managers but as I said a few weeks ago, something needs to change. Whether that's the manager, or players. I believe it's now just 1 win in 11 league games? Mid-table may be a dream if nothing changes over the next couple of months, as we could be dragged into the wrong end of the table.

OK, heads up, I've had a few drinks, and have the Stones playing in the background, and hopefully won't regret anything I say now, but I am pretty sure I won't ... so let's GO!

OK, let's kick off with positives, and there were positives. We had a crowd of 1005, and that is a big credit to all the people working behind the scenes to increase our community presence. I normally sit on the now McDonalds stand, but for a change was near the home dug out, but it was lovely hearing the kids cheering us on when we were behind, and us grown ups can all learn from that positivity. We hit the post, and had a goal disallowed for offside that looked ok to me, though I hope that will all be clearer from the highlights, so another day could arguably have won 3-2. And I am not sure Myles deserved a red card, so that could be an unlucky sending off.

I have said before, and I will say again, I have absolutely NO idea what Warren sees in Medy Elito, and YET AGAIN Medy Elito played a totally anonymous game, yet again contributing NO assists, or ffs NOTHING, I can't even be bothered to waste time on how little he adds to the team. We've got Cameron's energy and creativity that could play there, Taylor who is our third highest scorer yet isn't always picked, Kasim's creativity and strong challenging, Sam's great communication and knitting the team together... and we get Medy Elito.

I didn't have a particular view on James Dunne, as I like the way he switches play from one side to the other to remove pressure from the pressurised side. But posters here have commented on the choice of him as a captain, and that made me look more closely at him, to see what exactly he adds to the team. And when I look closely at him I see a guy who gets tired as the match goes on, so for the last 20 minutes gives the ball away with inaccurate passes as he is tired, and who spends lots of the match before that getting in stupid rows with opponents and referees. I now have no idea why he is our captain, as he has no leadership qualities I have noticed, and when we fall behind he does nothing to focus the players on how to fight back. He gave up running for the second goal we conceded, and this is what Warren is blind to, if you have a midfield of Medy Elitio and James well then you reap what you sow.

Sometimes in football one can be a bit stupid without realising it, missing a key point. I had realised that our best play this season was when we played down the wings, against Oxford, against Cheshunt. And that is still true. But what I realised for the FIRST TIME TODAY AFTER WATCHING THIS LOSS TO THE BOTTOM TEAM BEATING US FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS SEASON is that our wide play was so good because our central creative play is SO BAD. Warren keeps picking James Dunne and Medy Elito in central midfield roles. Approaching HALF WAY through the season how many goals have James Dunne and Medy Elito scored? How many assists have they made to goals? Yet they keep getting picked.

When we had Medy Elito and James Dunne substituted today we suddenly looked dangerous, even though we were a man down!

Warren is a cautious manager, usually playing one up front, sometimes two. When we were looking for an equaliser today we added Antony to Ade and Stefan, and guess what, we looked really dangerous, again, despite being a player short.

So as I have said before, we have all the pieces of the jigsaw, just aren't putting them in the right place.

Chi was awesome in wide midfield against Hungerford, time and time again running down the wing and getting into the opponents' box. Warren's response, keep playing him in defence. And our penetration down the wings on either side today was what exactly? Nil. So we have the answers in our squad, but are not using them.

We were so demoralised today we weren't pushing up, so our strikers were always starting off too far from their goal.

It is not all Warren though, he shouted at a player to mark the front post, that player didn't do that, and Weymouth scored from that big gap, so it is no doubt frustrating for Warren to tell the players to do the basics (and covering each post is hardly advanced defending) and they dont do them, as he had seen the problem, but the players didn't deal with it.

The team have learned to close down quickly in midfield, and are pushing up to support strikers more, so there are improvements. But as long as we keep playing uncreative players we wont create for the strikers, and they will be left on their own to create their goals, which was exactly what happened with Dipo last season, his supply was pretty much non existent so he had to create his own goals, same for Ade and Stefan this season, they arent getting much creative support, so are having to create their own chances.

The frustrating thing is we have all the potential, and fulfilled it earlier this season, so I know we can do it, but we need more imaginative team selection and formations to bring the best out of our squad. Blimey, Chi in a midfield wing role, with three guys in attack to pass to will never happen with Warren, but it would save us from this repeat situation, as we are like England against the USA, just not getting enough players forward to be a threat.

Sorry about the length of this post, but these things needed to be said.

Everything today was wrong, the performance on the pitch, hope and desire nothing existed.,

Im all for encouraging things for tomorrow but the amount of kids in the new stand who made enough noise that I have no idea who the minutes round of applause was for, the 50/50 draw result or any of the subs. The majority of them were great, being supportive but a few made enough noise to drown out anything. Maybe its just down to a certain amount of parents. A learn possibly is to allocate an area where they can enjoy themselves in an area of the ground, maybe the corner of the old stand, but fantastic in what has been achieved so far.

As for the day. well I've been a fan of Warren, hes dug us out of a lot of holes but based on comments on budget, last time since a win etc and the no of players on contract whats the options and whose available?

Yes lets change but there are a no of challenges which will cost to move forward or are we happy that we will sit where we are in the league?

The minutes applause was for Steve "Teddy" Pain. Supporter and Director of the club for decades during the Hobbins era and he also helped the club financially on a grand scale. He used to run the old catering under the stand with Pam many years ago that used to be far superior to what we have now (Not that environmental health would agree!l

It was very sad to hear the news of his passing the week before last.

Mmmm Not quite sure what you are trying to say. Could you possibly elaborate?

Sorry, in short, apart from Taylor and Kasim we lack creativity in midfield, and the manager keeps picking uncreative players who contribute little to our attacking options, although he has creative attacking options available to him in the squad, such as Cameron and Chi, and had that in Rob Strachan but never even played him in the first team.

Really feels like were sleepwalking into the bottom end of the table. Feeney absolutely has to go now, its more a matter of when rather than if for me.

It was very sad to hear the news of his passing the week before last.

 Thanks Dean.

Yes a great stalwart of the club and a sad event of his passing. Such a shame that people of his nature so rarely exist in a lot of non league football clubs these days

The only thing good to happen at the game today was when Dean shouted someone left the gate open at the c*** farm . Safe to say my 12 year old was laughing his head off and have had to try and convince him not to use that at school

Thanks Dean

I have come to the conclusion that Welling United 22/23 is like a Christmas selection box..

There are three main types of sweets in the box

1. The favourite ones that get picked first every week even if they sometimes leave a bitter after taste

2. The ones where the "sell by" or "best before date" has long gone and

3. The ones that are stuck to the box and you can't seem to get rid of.

Strangely every few weeks one of the sweets goes missing before you reach the end of the box but it's never the same sweet twice..??

The company that manufactures the sweets has worked tirelessly in recent months to upgrade the sweets and provide the best variety possible but, the person putting the box together, simply has no idea which sweets to pick or how to mix the sweets together. All the while the cost of the sweets is very high and the value for money goes down week on week.

I can't understand how Feeney is still in a job. People say that he wasn't the one who recruited these players, but he absolutely isn't getting the best put of what he's got. I'm 'fortunate' enough to view the games from near our dug-out and it's very rate that anything constructive comes out of Feeney's mouth; he just stands there spitting, swearing and constantly laying into players.

I actually thought that the players looked a bit panicked on the ball and very unsettled. Perhaps the ranting and raving as you say is leading to this.

Warren must change his thinking, and be more flexible in how he uses his squad, by now even he should be able to see constantly putting out the same players in the same formation isn't working consistently any more. In our first half season so far we got 18/30 points, form for around 80 points play off area, then in the last 9 games we have got 10/27 points, form for about 50 points relegation area. So changes in play are clearly needed.

Recently goal scoring is a problem, in our second half of the season we scored 0 or 1 goal in 10 of our last 12 games (our last 9 league games and 3 cup games). That's because as a team we gradually dropped further back, due to confidence, don't have enough players close enough to the opposition goal to score, and dont have enough creative passes to create opportunities.

I believe in our squad, at times earlier this season we played some of the best football of any I've seen in our league, so I know we have potential. So it is a question of moving pieces around for a better fit. A 3 4 3 formation solves problems Warren keeps making, it will score more than his cautious and unsuccessful one up front approach, or two up front, with little or no support from midfield in both layouts. A suggested formation, giving us our 3 highest scorers in attack, solves the problem of uncreative midfielders who have lost their legs, gives us attacking creative players down the wings who can also tackle, a younger, faster team overall, would be

3 Attack Taylor M Ade Stefan

4 Midfield Chi, Antony, Kasim, Aaron

3 Defence Jamie Manny Sam

Keeper Myles

I like Chi, as he is a very intelligent analytical footballer, who is still learning, but his interviews show he thinks a lot about the game. So I was struck by him saying recently in an interview he would like to play in a more attacking role, and that the team could play more to its strengths. I agree, and think the above attacking 3 4 3 formation takes the brakes off our team and get rid of this safety first approach that results show no longer works.

The worst thing any manager can do is alienate the fans, and I'm afraid if Feeney is going to start whinging on about unrealistic expectations and trying to make out the fans are some sort of ungrateful bunch of moaners, then he is going to do just that.

The arrogance of his post derby match comments I could excuse as a frustrated, misinterpreted one off. However, this constant moaning about unrealistic expectations and where we were last season, is beyond a joke. My understanding from those in the know, is that we are spending in the region of 14k per week. If that has been trimmed recently then I stand corrected, but what I do know is that 'moneybags' King nearly got us promoted on less than that. Warren FFS man will you listen up - I don't expect us to win the league, and swat everyone aside by five goals......but what I do expect is more than 1 league win every 2 months, and occasionally a bit of football that doesn't involve thumping it long to Azeez and Payne. Is that an unrealistic expectation? Pray tell at what point during "the project" can we expect to see either of those two things in return for 14k per week? The very fans you are alienating are the ones who turned up to the tune of 1,000+ yesterday - keep talking to them like they are cretins, and churn out the same dross every week and that will be back down in the 500-600 bracket

Also, having played under managers in my playing days who repeat the same lines every single week, I can tell you now that those very players will be shrugging their shoulders every time you speak. I once played for a fella who just used to say "you're going through the motions" every time we lost, and in the end when we lost a game the players would all sit round in the dressing room with a bull**** bingo card waiting for him to say it (along with a number of other bland, meaningless, rhetoric based comments). All I hear is "not good enough" - well what are you actually doing about it? Not good enough when we got trounced by Weymouth away - so what has happened since then? What's been done about the shirkers and those who "aren't up to it" (another phrase that gets tripped out every week). From what I see, absolutely nothing has happened and the same shirkers are picking up 14k per week and still "not up to it".

One thing's for sure - credibility once lost, seldom regained - and if you turn the players and the fans against you, then there's virtually no hope of recovering from there
