Go

He has no knowledge of this league or players and offers zero value in terms of maximizing what is available.

This season has had so few enjoyable moments.

Also the post dartford comments.

Go. There is only so long he can dine out on the Maidstone win. 1 win in 11 is relegation form, no ifs no buts. Tactically, he doesn't have a clue. Feeney-ball consists of hoofing it up to Azeez and hoping for the best - it doesn't work. We've brought in new players and changed formations, yet we are still stuck in this rut. I feel that he is out of his depth as a manager, we need to get someone in who knows the league. I wouldn't mind Rod Stringer, he's done it at this level and won't take any crap.

All Azeeze does is look to win fouls. Today Weymouth were wise to it and didnt touch him and it worked.

My biggest concern is that the players apparently aren't being signed by Feeney. If that's the case then he's here stealing a wage, by towing the line. Feels to me a bit like the MG days, one of the directors constantly talking to the bench, questioning decisions and going down to talk to players. Something doesn't add up.

It's a no brainer that he has to go.
Not only are the results nowhere near good enough but the football being played is absolutely garbage.
BUT if it is true that he isn't responsible for signing the players then whoever has been responsible for the recruitment of this squad on this money should also fall on their sword with him.

100% Go. Said all I have to say on the match thread. Whilst it's not the answer to keep chopping and changing its clear that the man is losing the fanbase and the dressing room, and from there its impossible to recover. Unlike some managers, he has been given the funds to produce something way better and its clear the team are actually going backwards. Nobody expects miracles and I think most of our fans are a patient bunch but when you combine an awful product to watch, results going backwards, players clearly not giving a f+++ or bother to listen......AND you start to take it out on the fans......I'm afraid there's only one possible outcome. Delay it as much as you like, but there's no coming back from here

As for him not being responsible for signing the players (if that is the case)

1. That model will never work at this level

2. Agree with Jamo that whoever is signing them should also be held to account

3. Regardless of points 1 and 2, there is enough 'talent' on that field (and budget) to achieve better than 13th place, get dicked in the 3rd Q round of the cup and produce long ball, Wimbledon 1980s style football

Stay.

But a qualified stay.

Warren is a mix of really good and really bad as a manager.

On the plus side, he has a fantastic hard work ethic to drive players on to fulfil themselves, and works them really hard to achieve that. So we have a really fit hard working squad, who do their best. I was fortunate to see a training session, and saw how hard they train, with much more intensity than I expected. That is good, I remember a player from another team saying the difference between league and non league is the speed of the games and the intensity of training. So his preparation of the team is great.

Player selection on the whole is very good, our squad is very talented, obviously not all signings work out, but most of his have, and his highly successful career as a player is attractive and will give players confidence in joining us.

When his team work well, they really work well, I have loved some of our earlier football this season, and like everyone else here am frustrated we have lost that thread, and really want to see it again, and know we could if we just learn from our mistakes, though the problem is he and the team aren't learning from them at the moment.

On the negative side, he is narrowminded, as he is not really interested in what other people think, which is fine when one is successful, but disastrous when things go wrong and one doesn't have answers to problems one manages. Most fans could point out things to be fixed in the team, but Warren keeps in his bunker, thinking others opinions are not worth listening to, so he won't benefit from help people could offer him.

Fans here pointed out Warren doesn't have a plan B in matches. I think that extends to squad selection. He keeps picking the same side, which is fine when it works, but again, disastrous when results keep going bad. He could be creative, trying players in different positions to find which they are best suited to, trying out new formations to see which suits our squad best, but he has a fixed view, and forces the team into that.

His conduct as a manager is dreadful, publicly swearing at his players, criticising them, no wonder they have lost confidence as a team, and these days pass backwards and sideways to avoid making mistakes he will then attack them for making. His behaviour is guaranteed long term to lose the dressing room in every team he manages.

It is all rather sad to watch, as pride comes before a fall, and all of us can see his mistakes, and predict how it will end unless he makes changes. But the one person that most needs to see them is shut off and thinks no one else is worth listening to, so he wont recognise or correct his faults as he can't see them. If he could fix them, stay, if not, go. I hope he surprises us all, and changes, but I have not really seen anything recent to suggest he will, which is a shame as if he could sort out his weaknesses as a manager he could be a real top top top manager.

You actually make a really good case for as to why he should go lol

Good to get feedback though, I dont enjoy hating on Warren, I wanted him to work but its clear as mud to see thats its just not.

Can't say I agree with much of this or see how you reach some of the conclusions stated.

Player selection on the whole is very good???? On what evidence?? The results lately have been shambolic.

The squad is very talented?? Really??? With a good work ethic installed by Warren? Not from what I've seen.
They look a half hearted, indisciplined and often lazy rabble going thru the motions. They laid down at Weymouth, Braintree, Dartford, were dicked at home to St Albans and how bad were they at home to Fisher in the Cup??

Whoever is responsible for putting this squad together needs to be removed from the process, they are just not good enough, there is no plan and we are wasting good money on rubbish.

Im not bothered about a manager being 'narrowminded' as such as all coaches should have their own ideas on how the game should be played and no self respecting manager should be listening to ideas from fans what systems, selections etc should be utilised BUT when it goes wrong they must expect to be held to account.
I see a lack of ideas, a lack of flexibility, an enormous lack of discipline and sub standard performance's and results which at the end of the day are the be all and end all.

We need a manager with knowledge of this level, with contacts and who is free to sign his own players and build his own squad NOT unqualified board members and directors of football (joke) playing football manager and signing players on silly money on a scattergun approach............Steve King wouldn't be 13th in the league and getting his pants pulled down every week on this budget.

We beat a hung over Maidstone side to stay up. From what i read we have the 3rd highest playing budget in the league this season ?. So yes i would expect better & as feeney is always going on about how his a footballing man i expect  more from him. Again if true his not involved in player recruitment then come out and tell us in the interviews. This " The fans expect to much " well why shouldn't they if true about playing budgets & training 3 times a week. ?.

I know is almost 10 years ago, but Mr Day build a team on a budget of nothing, a team that played as a team on & off the pitch.

Just to put some context into my thinking about Warren's position, I work in highly paid contracting roles which are usually 3 - 4 months to set up systems. Recently I was sacked early from two separate year long contracts, which was so disappointing. I have now not been working for a couple of months, so it has given me the time to look back and realise the mistakes I made that led to me being let go twice. It has actually been really valuable, as I can now very clearly see things I did wrong, which I couldn't at the time. I have realised I should have improved my communications with my line managers, that cost me both jobs.

So that is why I hope Warren takes a step back to look at the repeat bad situations he is facing, and why they always end up the same way for him, and takes responsibility to fix them rather than him trying to always deflect all responsibility for bad performances onto the players.

One learns more from failure than success, so if him and the team go about things in the right way they will learn how to respond positively when things are tough. Warren has to realise he needs to be more flexible in his player choices in matches and formations, and start to seek and value the opinions of other people to reach a better set of decisions than he does on his own. I will stand by my view that we have the right players, it is just that they are being used in the wrong way at the moment, and that Warren's man management is counterproductive, as he is attacking his own team, rather than supporting them. This is now a really important part of the season coming up, as the team goal is top half of the table, and we have achieved that throughout the season, but are now on a downward spiral so at risk of meeting that goal. As everyone knows, it is a results business, and the club will be working out the right balance between stability of keeping the manager, against letting him go. Our great start has bought several months, so I guess he is safe now, but wonder when the attention will be solely on what we do now, rather than what we did last season, or did in the first two months of this season. We have a decent run of fixtures up to the end of January, then much harder ones, so if things aren't better by the end of January the gos will probably win the day.

We have been beaten twice by the club at the foot of the table.
Enlighten me to what you mean by decent run of fixtures.
You use that term quite freely, yet we appear better when playing the better teams.
In view of that, perhaps getting, Havant, Ebsfleet, Bath and Oxford would be more favourable.
FFS, Weymouth yesterday didnt have enough players to fill there sub bench.

1 win in 2 months with a 14k per week spend. There really isn't any possible argument to defend that. If we'd exclusively played top eight teams in that time it would be acceptable but where it includes the likes of Weymouth, Braintree, Concord, St Albans, Hampton, Dover and Slough, its something of a sick joke.

I am one of life's loyalists and would find it difficult to change people in leadership positions without very good reasons. I look back over recent times to see what we have achieved with little budget (Day) and a large budget (King) and both these sides would have taken the present one apart. Not enough I know to call for Warren's head but the performances of the side over recent times in the league are of a relegation standard. Given this, if we do not wish to get into our (now) traditional end of season relegation bun fight (9 points above the drop zone with a whole host of games to go) action needs to be taken now and I mean quickly. We were saved by a pub/club in Maidstone last year and if the current free fall continues, we may not be so lucky this time around. Also, if it is true that Warren is not signing the players then whoever is should consider passing on those duties (if that is possible!) to somebody more competent. I may be accused of painting the blackest of pictures but we do not seem to be getting anywhere, the manager has lost the Supporters, I am not sure if he has lost the dressing room but they certainly seem to find it difficult to play for him and value for money is something we have not seen in 10 of the Last 11 matches. I think I have my very good reasons.

Started the season well with a core of players that played preseason and went on trip to the coast and bonded, is was only when we added more unnecessary players that its gone tits up, whether warren signed these players or the money man has , but this isnt good enough.

Let's be honest bar maybe 2/3 games during his tenture the style and quality of football has been the same including an overhall with arguably now a better squad. Right from the off I thought it was a poor decision to hire him this year but accepted it on the basis he perhaps deserved a shot for keeping us up.

He has no credible managerial success that can be relied upon. By his own admission the Bulgarian league was corrupt and it was their 2nd tier.

Where did he come from. Who at the club knows him. Sounds like he was offered via an agent like many of the players we have signed.

The aim is to be competitive...Well we aren't.

The owners or at least named executives have made massive strides in revenue seeking, trying to improve facilities etc so I appreciate that but it's nothing without a side that us worth paying to see or having an affection for.

Need to cut the cloak and dagger **** that still remains behind what are the risks ,aims and objectives for this season and beyond and not just limited to playing side but ground. I still wonder if MG has an attachment to this club somehow in terms of outstanding debt. Don't think companies house has him yet removed

Meet the manager night effectively saved his job for the time being after Dartford he should of gone but it was a case of "oh well we've got this night planned so let's see what happens" then a good night was had by all and all was forgotten for the time being. Nothing has really changed, you can see the players ain't buying it but then there are also 3 or 4 players that ain't good enough who we're led to believe he didn't sign. I'd just question who we'd get in but yes time to go.
This "look where we've come from" on repeat every interview is absolute nonsense. If he'd coached the same squad of players from last year then you can say that, but this is a 14k budget (supposedly) on a whole new squad who had absolutely nothing to do with last year!

Managers stand or fall on their decisions. Constantly making the wrong decision of playing of Chi in defence rather than in midfield is one of the things one can safely predict will lead to the gos eventually getting their way. That whole situation is ridiculous anyway, Warren spends all match screaming his head off at Chi in defence, so if he has so little confidence in him as a defender why does he keep playing him in defence? Chi's fantastic passing for the Stefan goal on Saturday showed yet again how good Chi is in an attacking role, but Warren just can't see that.

A new manager with a more flexible approach could well take the radical approach of taking our best wide midfielder out of defence and moving him into wide midfield. Aaron Barnes has improved his accuracy in passing into the box, and got assists, so could equally make the switch to a wide midfield position. But that option will also be totally overlooked until someone with a more flexible approach takes over. We have all the right pieces of the jigsaw, our squad are fine, but some are just continually played in the wrong positions.

There is a fine line between success and failure, we had lots of drawn games conceded goals from silly mistakes that could easily have been wins for us. The extra six points from 3 wins instead of 3 draws would have put us in a much better place in the table. But over a season the table doesn't lie. Warren did a great job of rebuilding the team to keep us up last season. He has then done a great job of building a new team this season. I loved the simplicity of Roy Keane saying managers come in to fix things. The odd situation Warren has is he must fix the mess he has created. But with him always passing the buck onto the players when things have gone wrong I no longer am even sure if he realises it is his job to fix the problems, or if he even recognises what they are. He has the answers in his squad, but right now isn't using that squad as effectively as he should be.

I was thinking more about this whole question yesterday. My problem with the premise of sacking the manager when results dip is that ignores an equally important contributor to the problems - the players. Man U have brought in a series of top managers who all flopped, while the players stayed and continued underperforming. In that situation people have gradually realised the problem was the players, rather than the manager.

I think our manger and players are equally responsible for fixing things, which is why I have no time for him always passing the blame for anything wrong onto the players, as it is his job to make them play better. Similarly I have no time for players who dont do the basics and so create the problems that lead to bad results.

Warren could have been a less driven manager, happy with one or two sessions a week, but I do think our 3 a week helped. It is impossible to prove, but I'd expect us to be lower if we trained less, had less fitness and less touch. Our second half season results so far aren't great, P 13 W 3 D5 L5 F13 A24 but they include some recent great performances, we beat Havant 3 2, drew with Ebbsfleet with two players short, so have shown we have got the ability, but not the consistency.

The target has been top half of the table, which Warren has delivered all season long, so sacking someone who has achieved what was expected of them does not seem sound. But if results continue bad by the end of December fitting in 5 league games and 2 cup games, or end of January for another 6 games, and it becomes clear that a top half finish and decent cup runs looks out of reach, then the manager's future is less supportable.

To me its not just losing games. Its the manner of the defeats. Does anyone really see us being even a half decent team let alone a good team. Training 3 sessions a week should at least make us solid and organised. Have we looked solid and organised. Have we hell. I said earlier on Saturday we looked the worst team I have seen at this level all season. 3 training sessions a week should show in our play. It doesnt IMO. There is something wrong with our training methods if it produces dross like we witnessed on Saturday.

Last season we had 3 managers. In the last 8 years we have had 13 permanent managers and 3 caretaker managers, so in effect have averaged 2 changes a season, which is ridiculous. We need to learn from past mistakes.

Welling are now looking for long term stability, so sacking a manager each time there is a run of bad play doesnt make sense unless it is absolutely clear the manager cannot turn things round. I think by the end of December/ January that will be clear one way or the other. If it is a player problem there is no guarantee a new manager could get better results from the team. So for all we know Warren could get sacked now because of 3 wins in 13 games, a new guy could come in, either bring in tons of new players or mainly carry on with who we have, he could do badly too, and be sacked too, and then we are back to square one.

I remember someone here saying that Warren is stubborn. Actually I don't think that is the problem, it is more a question of him not really being collaborative or interested in bouncing ideas around to fix things on the pitch. So he'll have his head in the sand about the problems in his team and have no one he respects telling him the things that everyone but him can see - that his constantly publicly attacking his own players is damaging to the team confidence, that the team lack width, lack midfield pace which is partly why the striker gets isolated and why we score so few these days as we dont have enough guys up in attacking positions. All easy to fix.

These problems have been emerging for the past 15 games or so, yet nothing seems to be done about them, so presumably he doesn't see these problems, and no one around him points them out to him. He's often said in interviews he doesn't do social media, so I assume that includes this forum, and if so that is a shame as fans here are so knowledgeable and have taught me a lot, so he'd broaden his thinking and improve results if he learned to value constructive criticism and not to block out others opinions.

I wasn't aware of this - that's rather worrying if it is the case.
