Also roll on redevelopment of PVR. Although Hate to think how much it will cost. I remember speaking to young Barry many moons ago and he estimated £400,000 now its possibly over £500,000

 I don't think that you'll get a decent one for under £800k.

Mark X is correct can cost over a million, However the cost will vary depending on what the final spec is: The cost for welling united should in theory be cheaper than a grassroots club application as floodlights and fencing costs etc should not be required if it is just replacing the grass pitch. I would suspect a few hundred thousand pounds still.

As Marx X also pointed out pitch will needed relayed. It is advised it should be every 10 years. The club would need to raise and set aside 10,000 - 15,000 a year aside to raise 100,000 - 150,000 to cover the cost of replacing the pitch.

I have generally been anti-plastic in football, Maidstone being a poor example IMO, but was most impressed by how the Tonbridge Angels plastic eradicated the peaks and troughs, looked and played well. I read this improvement at Longmead was at a cost of £700,000, this being raised part by grant but majority by 20 private investors at £20k each. Predictions through the increased income from private hire suggested that investments should be repaid within 5 years? Guess it would be circa £770k for PVR as based in ungreater London.

And the Angels are having a better season on plastic, until that is they met a certain Welling United! For me our club will have to show a more successful standard of ground and playing management to attract that private investment, if that is to be the way funds are to be raised. Remember the last lost supporter investment scheme, there will likely be a once bitten twice shy scenario.

Happy new year to all.

Must be a good chance of being off , tomorrow? The rain today has been persistent and there's more to come tomorrow. I saw the verti drain work, but that is no good with the amount of rain that has fallen.
