We've scored a total of 5 goals in the last 7 games, which had 3 games we didn't score in, hopefully we will do better against the bottom team today. They seem decent defensively, and that is the standout and enjoyable thing in this competitive league, there are no easy games, as even the bottom team is good and not that far from safety.

I agree with your point Polo, so I've taken that comment out, so no more mentions of bald men with chalky heads.

How about starting your own thread, it can be pinned at the top if you wish, then you can post all your thoughts in one place no matter the subject.

There is an "off topic" section on this forum Mr Hartley and this (and a few other of your diatribes..) would be where this sort of stuff belongs...

I nominate Mr Hartley to present Match of the Day. He could invite Mr Feeney to be his pundit. That would be a team, statwankery at its best! Oops, apologies for not putting this as an off topic comment, but it is a response to what sadly is already here!

I don't know how much we are paying for this squad but somebody is being robbed. Totally sterile up front, no imagination in midfield with no leaders or anybody who can take the game by the scruff of the neck and I have lost count of the number of goals we have given away from long balls through the center of defence. OK all of the recent opposition sides have been chasing points but we should have the pedigree to win more points than we do. IMO we are in free fall, and we need something to arrest it immediately. However, that is up to the manager and those that control the Club. With the football we are playing at present it leaves the Chairman's aim of 1000 gates as something out of cloud cuckoo land. However, in the words of our on pitch leader "Look where we are now to where we were last season". Well.........

Surely Feeney has to go now. Were in serious trouble.

As for Payne, if he spent more time trying to actually play football and less time giving it to the fans multiple times mid game he might actually get somewhere!

We are seriously seriously ****

Feeney must make a cracking Spag Bowl in doors, what else would be the reason for the owner not to sacking him on the spot?

Safest job in football. The football is club is in ruins.

Throughout this season I have met a lot of people who have come to PVR for the first time. A great many of these have come with young children who would be the lifeblood of the club in years to come. I have seen them disheartened when leaving at the end of games. Today a group of new youngsters turned up bought a pen each and asked me for some paper to get players autographs. As they walked out one was heard to say thats £7 wasted. I cant see these kids coming back for along time, if ever.

Agreed. If a manager is unsackable then the club is a complete joke. The irony of it is theyre trying to be more professional yet they are more Sunday league than ever before.

In the first half we had fixed the mistake of previous games, and had enough players pushing up to support attacks. At half time I was thinking this was, in a way, our best home performance since Oxford, as we were finally getting the basics right of having enough players pushing forward to support attacks, and were playing on the wings, not just crap route one high ball, really promising and playing to our strengths of earlier in the season.

The second half combination of their immediate early goal and Sam being sent off for something when I was behind the goal we were attacking, so too far away to know if it was justified or not, was a double whammy hard to overcome, even against the bottom side, as they were fighting for survival and were in the same sort of form as us, so one goal for either side was always likely to be decisive. Despite being a player down we finished well, but their one player advantage showed most of the second half.

I don't know, we started 8 points from being safe, if 50 is the safety zone, but judging by 5 goals in 8 games, where the hell are we going to get those 8 points from. We didn't look likely to score today, again, hardly anything on target, though the sending off contributed to that in the second half.

I always stand up for what I think, this isn't ill considered stuff I later regret saying, but is more considered than people realise, as I do know what I am on about, so speak my independent thoughts. So I had an interesting talk with Warren before the match, as I wanted to talk with him face to face, as I have no time for his nonsense of passing on silly messages through someone else who shouldn't even be dragged into something that is nothing to do with them, and it is silly me talking to the board by e mail when it is just as easy talking directly with him. He knows who I am, and what I think of him, and his role as manager, so it was, shall we say, an interesting discussion, which just reinforced everything I think about him. It was very sad, as he is his own worse enemy, and can't see the woods for the trees, so thinks someone is trying to kill him, when in fact he is killing himself with his toxic approach to everything, and doesn't recognise a friend from an enemy, who is trying to give constructive advice to fix the things he repeatedly can't see. Oh well, one reaps what one sows, slag off the players, slag off the fans, sit back in games and hardly have any attacking players, really, seriously, how will all that end? The sort of things I have tried to warn him about, because, as I said to him, I want him and the team to do well. To be fair, he has kept us up last season, and HOPEFULLY has job done of keeping us up this season, and then a thank you for keeping us up, and then onto a new manager.

Oh, just seen we are now only 6 points above relegation. 2 games worth of points, with 10 games to go. We were fine in the first half, they never looked likely to score, that sending off messed up the game for us, otherwise who knows how it would have ended. 5 league wins from October onwards. Ooph, it's not looking good.

Taken from twitter and not my work, but certainly sums up the situation very well and made me laugh.

The fans are being taken for mugs.

We are six points off the relegation places and all but one of the bottom six have games in hand on us. We've scored one goal in six games, have the third-worst home record in the league, the worst discipline in the league, and have only eight points in the last ten games. That is relegation form. We have ten games left and still have to play four of the top ten. If the board don't pull their fingers out of their asses sharpish we will go down. The chairman said in his programme notes that he still thinks we can finish in the top half, I must ask those more in the know at the club than I am, is he alright in the head?

Another awful visiting team at pvr. We aren't much better. Cue the huff and puff and anti football once we find we can't score in the first 20 mins. Manager has to go. If you aren't sacking him tell us why your prepared to stand by him whitehead, mein and the secret backers and co. He offers absolutely zilch. Otherwise be prepared for more 10 tickets and feeney - the fans were great propergander

Can someone any one, whether it be the Owner or a member of the board, or a member of the Feeney fan club, put on here or a statement on the website justifying how Feeney is still manager? Because I and many others are baffled. We will be relegated with crowds of 300. If he is allowed to continue.

We started the game really well, then not matched that as fully in the second half, the story in our recent games.

It could be that the shape of the team gets worse as the match goes on, our defenders drop deeper and deeper, so we then have less defensive support to push up for the midfield, so in turn have less midfield support to push up for our strikers. And against Concord, as in most games, we didn't often have guys in the box as targets to aim for.

Looking at the March fixtures, lots of the teams below us have matches against each other, which is good news for us as they can't both get 3 points, so some points will be dropped by one or both teams, so that helps us. And we have Weymouth, Chippenham and Taunton in March, all below us.

The goal scoring is our big problem, as until checking our results while writing this I hadn't realised defensively we are actually going really well at the moment, conceding just 6 goals in the last 7 games, which is great, but that is undone by us only scoring 5 in those games.

I noticed yesterday Antony's link up play has improved a great deal, really good through balls to attacking players, George Alexander hasn't really struck me in the last few games, and Stefan hasn't been scoring for a while, but looked really good playing behind two strikers, so it would be good to see how Antony and Ade do in attack together, with Stefan in the hole behind them, now Antony has added things to his game, assuming Ade is fit as he went off injured yesterday.

Azeez and Payne should have been replaced at HT with George and Papadopolus.
Azeez brought nothing and we were far more threatening last Tuesday without him.
Never rated Sam Cox

Even if Feeney keeps us up, which seemed guaranteed until a few weeks ago, there is no way he is the man to take the club forward next season.

Crowds will go down and we may even lose some of our sponsors due to the bad atmosphere at PVR.

It would surely be beneficial to get someone new in now so they can assess the current squad, win a couple of games to keep us up and plan for next season.

I dont think Feeney is a particularly good man manager or coach or tactician. But the most important thing at this level is the recruitment of players and seems to be his biggest weakness.

Steve King would be my choice of replacement but we should advertise it, interview candidates properly and get the right man in.

The one way slide down the table continues and reading the comments above this could have been just about any match thread from the past few months

Its clear the guy is an absolute busted flush and has almost resigned himself to the fact that he doesn't have any answers.

"Didn't move the ball quickly enough" - how many times have we heard that, before rocking up a few days later and playing exactly the same way.

He'll swap 3 or 4 players round, probably bring in one or two more desperate loan signings, and none of it will have any impact

We all know the common denominator here!

Hoping the owners make a change so that this fan (and I suspect many others like me) can look forward to watching our team again.
