Welling isn't as good as possible at promoting the success of its younger teams. YouTube recommends vids based on ones viewing history, and on the background of my Welling United viewing recommended a vid of www.youtube.com/watch 2022/23 London Under 13 Sunday Cup Final - Welling United v Lewisham Borough (1st Half) and www.youtube.com/watch 2022/23 London Under 14 Sunday Cup Final - Welling United v Doverhouse
It is great our younger players are having these sort of successes, but it would be nice if the club publicised them more, as I only found out about these by chance, and we have reached other youth finals this season. So although the first team has been a mess again this season, youth prospects are looking promising.
We have 6 league matches and 2 cup games to cram into April, I doubt there would be any fans objecting to us fielding an U 23 team in the cup games, as we can't afford any first team injuries, and with the games coming thick and fast normally fit players are suddenly getting strains and injuries, so the fewer games our first team players play the better, as it would be nice to win cups, but staying in this division is miles more important.
Just seen on National Forum Chatham won their league yesterday with a crowd of over 2300.
The Final has been confirmed for being on May 3rd at the Priestfield Stadium so Chatham will be well up for this. Hopefully we will be motivated enough and can play a KSC Final at Gillingham for the first time since 1985?
