Unfortunately the fantastic performance by the players on the pitch was overshadowed by events off it.
The players put a superb shift in. We were clinical, looked threatening every time we went forward, and the work rate was off the charts. If only we had played like that all year, we would have been higher up the table. I cannot fault it in anyway. It was probably the most enjoyable game I've seen this year.
However..... a club employee kicked off after the game with supporters and threatened some before the game started, not the first time he has done that
The club has not been a pleasant place to be around at times this season, and normally I don't look forward to a season ending, but I feel in need of a break. If the same parties are involved next season then urgent discussions are required to find a common ground ahead of the new season.
What a shame that my fellow supporters and I are talking about the events off the pitch, rather than those on it, especially after such a fantastic performance.
It's genuinely heart breaking to see, and I am done. Have a good rest over the summer to my fellow supporters. Maybe see you next season.

It's gutting. Today, best performance of the season for me and its over shadowed by the actions off it.
Hopefully certain parties are gone. Whether I come back next season is still up in the air, and for someone who attends all but one of two games very year, it paints a sad picture that I'm thinking of staying away next season.

Sorry to pi$$ on your post Polo, but if you called me a grass I would come out guns blazing. Perhaps you could enlighten me to what happened, as I have found him as a decent bloke. Too many people get too excited over Welling and think they can say whatever enters their brains in the comfort of standing behind a terrace. Personally, if you are not prepared to say whatever enters your brain in person, to that person you are aiming vitriol at, then close your mouth and say nothing.
With regards to Feeney, yes we started well, realised the team budget was exceeded, watched both him and Payne show a great deal of incompetence and embarrassed themselves. The last month however, has changed my opinion. We have a stubborn crowd, and a stubborn Manager/owner.
Bringing on the loyal supporter recently may have been the closest thing we have seen to an olive branch.
Maybe, just maybe, this has been a big learning year for a Conference South Manager and ownership.
Personally, I think he is worth another season with a team he picked and navigates.
Look, this is my simple opinion, no idea what happened off the pitch, but it is all about opinions I guess?
Do we have another buyer in the wings (excuse the pun) conducting due diligence?

And on to the actual game. I thought we were excellent from start to finish. We looked like a team. We looked like we had been working hard on the training pitch. We looked professional. Confident. Solid. Happy. 3 really well taken goals. I enjoyed the whole 95 minutes of football. The question on everyones lips is why didnt we show our recent form over the last 6 months.
We were excellent yesterday and the support was fantastic down there, which is why I took exception to events off it. The person in question seemed to be aiming his grievances to all the fans as we walked past. That's not on when the fans travelled in numbers. Fine, have a go at people if you think it's warranted but it seemed to be aimed at a lot of us.
We've played 3 games against teams who all had nothing to play for, granted played decent football, but all of a sudden feeney deserves a bit more time it seems. Unbelievable Jeff..
We also played very well against St Albans and could have been a couple of goals up at HT. That game boiled down to finishing really. Maybe April is the new October.
Reading some of Polo's comments above, I'm afraid to say I'm not surprised. There was a nasty undercurrent around the club months ago, and the owners and manager don't seem to have any issue with it - in fact, the manager is complicit in creating that culture. Very sad to read when people I've known for 30+ years decide enough is enough, or at least question whether their love for the club can continue to be abused.
It's easier for me as a part timer and living further away to stay away.....and stay away I certainly will, at the very least until the fan hating manager has gone - but I appreciate for many who give up almost every Saturday afternoon (not to mention tons of spare time) its more of a wrench. I miss going to the games, but in any walk of life, I'd never have my own loyalty and support abused and I sure as hell have more self respect than to pay for something and have some gob****e in a tracksuit mouth off abuse at me.
Crowds to continue <500 and worse if it carries on this way. What a shame for all those who deserve better
