Many supporters of yesteryear will recall a Welling United legend, a hero who loved his football and travelled relentlessly everywhere across the country following his beloved Wings and reporting on the action immediately after the game.

Tudor Jones..he was an absolutely fabulous guy, had time for everybody and was terrific company always with a glass and/or a cigar in his hand and I find it pretty outrageous that since his sad demise years ago now that he hasnt been honoured with a plaque on Wellings memorial wall. I did bring this to the attention of Matt before the start of last season but nothing happened and I feel its only right and proper that I push for his memory to be acknowledged by the club at the club.

I am 100% positive that Tudor will have many old friends on here that feel the same and I would appreciate it if somebody could raise this issue with either WUSA or Club Officials itself.

Im sure there are many other names that deserve the same treatment but this is one in particular I feel needs immediate attention.

Many thanks

Jeff Spooner and Gordan Runacre also haven't been recognised on that wall. Perhaps something could be incorporated into the new development?

Brother Spooner and Bruno, along with Tudor. All very different and brought together with their love of Welling United.

The bar was possibly going to be named after him as well

Tudor was a gentleman - one of the nicest blokes I've met and gave his time generously. At the very least, a plaque on the wall to mark his honour would be highly appropriate

I didnt know Tudor but I certainly knew Jeff, Bruno and of course the one and only Eric. It certainly would be nice to see more fans no longer with us on the wall. However if I understand correctly - and please tell me if I am wrong - the plaques are provided by and paid for by the families of the deceased. To this end my kids have already been told what to do when its my turn to go up there. But I am sure we as fans can do something to honour our former friends and I will raise this at the next WUSA meeting.
