Deeply worrying given the strides forward it looked to be going, but Keith left saying words such as - hoping the team survives, that he has to accept the club is in a certain position, and that its not money motivated but does need "money to live".
Really sad, as such great strides were made last year. But, if the club cant pay the manager a wage, its understandable why Keirh had to leave, and the replacement turned down the job. I was a player sponsor, and the decision the players have had to make is heartbreaking for them. I know that first hand. In the end they were kind of forced into it, as the didnt seem to be any direction from the club.
Not bad mouthing the club at all, as we all know the situation its in. Its just sad that this happened.
Some posters here suggested we are tight for money just now. Cutting back expenses by dropping the ladies team would fit into that view, as running a team is an expensive business, and the team must have run at a loss.
There has been a mention of a new board being announced, and I haven't seen much sign of Howard Prosser or Jayke this season, so maybe there may have been some truth in Warren's bitter comment that the owner had lost interest once Warren had gone, if so I guess cutbacks are needed while the new board is being gathered?
Keith did a great job with the ladies last season, I really enjoyed the ladies match I saw at PVR, and it is sad they have ended, but maybe a benefit of the stadium development and move to all weather pitch is it could allow a new ladies team to be formed after the move?
Apparently playing a friendly on Thursday night v Dulwich Hamlets no idea where?
I imagine it will be at Cleeve Park School but nothing confirmed by the Twitter even after I replied to the original post. Erith & Belvedere are using PVR tomorrow evening
