Gosport beat Merthyr away on Saturday & also beat Totton at home tonight. They are now top of the Southern Premier and are clearly a decent side. However, we are capable of getting at least a draw, in this upcoming fixture, if we perform like we did at Eastbourne.
Obviously not a bad side but I watched the highlights of their game against Merthyr and they looked very slow at the back, merthyr wasted numerous opportunities and also had 10 men from early on. With our pace and power up top I don't see why we can't win.

Agreed, that 1-4 scoreline at Merthyr was somewhat flattering & if Tanga, White & Co. carry on where they left off last week, we should score. Gosport lost their only game away at Poole Town so I would fancy us at PVR, if we were to come away with a draw. We must go for the win though, without a doubt.

Spoke to Danny, they had them watched last Saturday, the management are not taking this game lightly
Just seen that Gosport have got Dave Tarpey on a short term loan. He was like a goal machine at Maidenhead a few years back. He is knocking on a bit now, but if he plays tomorrow we will have to keep him quiet as he could still cause a few problems up front.
I've looked at their recent games on YouTube, and think we will get a lot of joy if we attack them right down the middle of the pitch, as their defence gets pulled out of position quite easily, which will create space in attack for us.

IMO a crazy choice to select Wednesday, even allowing for some FA Youth Cup arrangements. Very few away fans that day due to train strikes.
I would imagine Gosport wanted this as they play their midweek games on Wednesdays. Once again we are too nice to the opposition. Having just looked at fixtures I see Charlton are at home Tuesday so we may pick up one or two extra on the gate.

I watched the second half surrounded by Gosport fans, one gloomily said "we are being outplayed by 10 men", which is spot on, although we were a man down we always looked more likely to score. With about 5 minutes to go, with us a man down and a goal behind to wind them up I jokingly shouted out, "this match has replay written all over it!", but we did it! To avoid defeat after conceding a poor goal and playing nearly all the second half a man down after a dumb self inflicted sending off was remarkable.
Fat Cabby, I stand by my comment, we played attacking down the wings, and Jepthe was outstanding, but if we had played a more direct attacking down the middle of the pitch the weakness I highlighted would have been more obvious. I said before kick off we would win 2 - 1 or it would be a 2 - 2 draw and we would win the replay. Bearing in mind Gosport are top of the division below us, so likely to be in our league next season, fans said they were surprised how poorly Gosport played, but that reflects more on how well we played to cancel them out. For the first time this season I saw our players playing lots of nice triangles, because we now have a settled experienced sides, building understanding, and now we actually have an experienced striker it is game on.
Byrd, Jephte, Tristan and Cameron Green stood out. One of their players went down with cramp, yet we were the ones playing a man short. The highlights will be interesting, Antony had two penalty claims dismissed, it will be good to look again at them, as this season has been nuts, so many games affected by penalty decisions against us or wrongly not being given to us, or us not taking advantage on the rare times we actually are awarded one.
Erith and Belvedere u18s are playing at pvr Tuesday in the youth Cup, not in our control to play the game then.
From what I've been told E&B shouldn't be playing youth games at PVR in the first place.!!!
I believe that they can if it is the F.A. Youth Cup but not anything else.
Got to feel sorry for our groundsmsn E&B&Q&A Tuesday. Us Wednesday did hear our FA youth cup game is Thursday or Friday but cant see anywhere then us back Saturday.
I can see the point in our ladies playing at Holmesdale now even though its a pain to get go.
